Supporting Actress Yuh-Jung Youn, Minari The clear frontrunner at this stage. Leading Actor Anthony Hopkins Almost certainly doesn't change anything for the Oscars, but it's nice to see some variety in the race.

Am I crazy for thinking that Hopkins still has a chance? Yes, yes I am.

Am I crazy for thinking that Hopkins still has a chance? Yes, yes I am. I think Boseman still wins out, but I think the vote tallies might be a lot closer than we'd have expected.

So happy Hopkins won something of note for that performance. Our bias is better than your bias, America.

This changes nothing for the Oscars but I'm very happy for Hopkins.
He surely deserved a big award win for that amazing performance!!!

While I think something needed to be done to help with diversity, and I think it’s great for those nominees that normally wouldn’t be recognized with a nomination, I feel like they still need a lot of tweaking as they still mostly went with the Oscar favorite when they could, and that the winners would have been pretty much the same under the old system. Although maybe Youn wouldn’t have won because she might not have been nominated, it’s difficult to tell, and Mulligan perhaps would have won over McDormand, except they really loved Nomadland so I think results still could have been the same.
I still prefer the way the Oscars tackled the problem; although their way isn’t perfect either. Instead of people who aren’t AMPAS members voting, they’ve invited more diverse members to join, and I think it has changed what has been nominated; although, I think there will always be the conventional Oscar bait that gets in as well because everyone has different tastes. I feel it’s a lot more transparent, and I feel it’s a better snapshot of what voters actually like.

Sound of Metal for Editing is such a bizarre choice.
The rest of these seem pretty standard. I bet Mulligan would've won if she had been nominated.
