Which female actress do you think will dominate the 2020s????I consciously mixed it up a little bit with veterans, young stars and up-and-comers.
You are free to add in the comments actresses i didn't put in the list.

I think several of them have the potential to. Hard to tell if some will take a break (Emma Stone maybe), some will fade (Pugh, ATJ, Zendaya?) or someone like JLaw comes roaring back after her hiatus.
Going with Zendaya for now.

Michelle Wiliams (not on the list) for me .......I think I could make a case that she's the best actress - period - on this list even though this is multiple generations - yeah, I know Colman and Davis are on the list - and I have always argued her as the best American of her generation (she's 40) ..........and once she gets past Venom 2.......I think she's going to go on quite a run..... Otherwise, actually on the list - Anya Taylor-Joy because she be the witch of the wood and time is on her side......

Depends how and where you define "dominate". Prestige or popularity? Both? TV or film or streaming? Or all three? The industry is more fractured than ever, with A-list actors (and especially actresses) criss-crossing between TV and film, on streaming platforms. Right, now, Nicole Kidman goes into the second year of this decade as probably the most dominant/powerful actress in the prestige TV sphere, and looking at her jam packed schedule of projects, that reign doesn't look like it will end anytime soon. The insane ratings for both Big Little Lies and The Undoing (which she served as a producer on both) has given her a level of clout in that sphere that is hard to underestimate. It also helps her in movies, as Meet The Ricardos was a major get, as far as a leading film role for an actress in her 50's. Someone like Cate Blanchett is potentially in that sphere, but I don't think she knows quite what resonates with TV audiences like Kidman. Reese Witherspoon also deserves a mention for her influence in that sphere, though she seems to be getting more credit as a producer than an actress.
The same actresses in their 30's or thereabouts will continue to receive the most opportunities on film for the immediate future: Margot Robbie, Emma Stone etc.
As far as new (er) actresses, I imagine they will be taking the same approach as someone like Kidman and cross between film, TV and streaming. I don't really see anyone trying to be like 90's Julia Roberts or even Jennifer Lawrence in the 2010's, where they just did movies and relied on having strong box office returns to consolidate their status. Hard to tell really. Some of them look like hot shit now (ie Anya Taylor-Joy), but we could easily be wondering in 5 or 6 years why she didn't take off like we assumed she might.
Zendaya seems the safest bet for these younger actresses as far as popularity goes. She's had those Disney Fans supporting her career since she was a kid in the 2000's and they aren't going anywhere, and are invested in her continued success. And she is being taken seriously as a "prestige" actress (Emmy winner etc), so things like Oscar nominations or wins seem likely.

Michelle Williams currently has leading roles lined up for Spielberg, Todd Haynes, and Kelly Reichardt, a more impressive looking upcoming slate than anyone on this list, so...her.

Zendaya.I don't think she's a particularly strong actress but she does have star quality and a huge following. I think Anya and Ana will do really well too.I don't know what Samara Weaving is doing on that list tbh.

I don't think Michelle Williams has a lot of popular appeal or star quality. Getting prestige project opportunities doesn't neccesarily mean "dominate" in the larger sense of popular culture interest. It just means the industry thinks you are a good actress. Few young actresses get more prestige opportunities than Sairose Ronan, but I never quite see her as having the starpower or audience appeal of people like Emma Stone or Margot Robbie. Williams is in that category (except Ronan, for all her limited star quality, still has more of it than Williams). A solid prestige actress, but low in star quality. People like Zendaya and Anya-Taylor Joy have a much higher ceiling than Williams as they can combine star quality/popular appeal with prestige.

Honestly, I think Elizabeth Olsen deserves a mention. WandaVision showed she is a phenomenal actress who can carry major projects on her back. Combined with her Marvel spawned popularity and fanbase, I think she may get a lot of offers for non-Marvel projects going forward. I think she is a far stronger actress than Scarlett Johansson, and she has used her status as a prominent star in the Marvel movies to get projects (even Oscar level ones) outside her franchise.
Olsen could be very big this decade, if Marvel gives her time to do other stuff.

Problem with Olsen is, she was supposed to be a huge breakthrough ten years ago after Martha Marcy May Marlene, but she faded hard into the background after that. The MCU revived her somewhat and obviously she showed immense promise in WandaVision, but she really needs to capitalize on it hard, and I feel like Florence Pugh is usurping a lot of roles that Olsen probably would excel in. I'd love to see it, though.

WandaVision has reminded people and then some. And now, like Johansson, she has a potential fanbase that she can carry into other projects that few actresses can dream of. I'll be shocked if she doesn't get some major non-Marvel offers after her WandaVision showing. Just depends on if she will be able to accept them, as I suspect Marvel will want to keep her working, making appearances in other projects like Doctor Strange: Multiverse Of Madness.

It's hard to say, really, but I'm gonna talk about three names in particular. Emma Stone really is making a hard play at being the predominant actress of her generation, and she certainly is racking up auteurs and industry giants quite impressively. Cruella will be a sign of her bankability, but it's pretty much foolproof to do a Disney film and have it make money. She's also been dipping her toes into the stage and has done television to acclaim as well, so I can really see her being the force to be reckoned with this decade. It just depends on whether or not she gets burned out or takes hiatuses.
Margot Robbie's really making a strong play at being a force for behind-the-scenes production as well and she obviously has been racking up cred left and right, and she's got several likely Oscar plays on the docket already. Bet on her to finally be an Oscar winner by decade's end. I can definitely see her taking a leaf from Reese Witherspoon's playbook and being someone who brings projects to life, even if she isn't necessarily in them.
Olivia Colman's got strong momentum and she's showing up all over the place, and for an actress in her forties, that is very impressive. Colman doesn't have the downside that a lot of actresses do in that they hit early and have a hard time holding fast, whether it be due to having a family or just by the vicissitudes of an industry that is always looking for the next new thing. But she headlined a massive Netflix juggernaut for two years, got all sorts of nominations, and she's back to the Oscars a scant two years after her win. And her upcoming roster looks promising as hell. Colman's here to stay now that the rest of the world has cottoned onto her, and while she will always have had a strong career as a character actress, now she's got leading clout and I think she's gonna make the most of it.
I wouldn't say either of these three will "dominate" the decade, because anything can happen and the field is so wide that any number of actresses, listed or otherwise, will have dominance in certain arenas. But I think these three have strong claims to being major forces in the years to come.

The question is whether or not they pay off. But she's a great actress and if Marvel is smart (which I think they are), they will continue to capitalize on her talent, especially as they're phasing out the old guard and bringing in the new. Funnily enough, she will have Florence Pugh joining the MCU as potentially Johansson's replacement, so we'll be seeing them going head-to-head, most likely.

I can't really say. Guessing many of them will dominate the decade. Taylor-Joy, Pugh, Ronan, De Armas...
Honestly I don't think Colman, Mara, ScarJo, Robbie and Davis belong to the list. All of them have proved their abilities, have won Oscars (or nominations) and have been considered stars and b.o. draws for quite some time now. Imo some younger actresses will be the stand-outs of the decade.

You know the ATJ fanboyism is strong on here when she's beating people like Robbie and Ronan in a poll like this. She's at that awkward point where in five years she could be an A-lister or completely forgotten.
Anyway, I'll comment on a few of these-
Robbie is obviously in great shape and will continue to star in prestige dramas with on Oscar likely coming at some point. It should be noted she hasn't had great luck with commercial projects so far with Tarzan and Birds of Prey flopping.
Saoirse likely stays in her lane and keeps doing prestige/period stuff and racking up nods. She's said before she's not really interested in franchise stuff and although I think she is very beautiful I don't think she has the "bombshell" looks people usually look for for those kinds of parts.
I have no idea about Zendaya's TV background but I'll just take everyone's word for it she has a fanbase. She's got Spider Man and Dune lined up so that should keep her a big star. Her acting has always been just okay when I've seen her so we'll have to see about prestige stuff.
Don't Look Up could be a major comeback for Lawrence and get her back into her early 2010's groove of leading prestige projects with top directors.
Really interested to see what Scarlett Johansson does in the wake of her double nod. I've always thought she was a better actress then she got credit for during the time she was stuck playing Black Widow over and over again so she could easily translate her post MCU star power into leading prestige films.
Emma Stone is also in great shape and I'm surprised she has zero votes. Has an Oscar, gets good parts both in prestige and commercial films.
Rooney Mara had a rough late 10's after looking like she was in good shape post-Carol but Nightmare Alley could get her right back into it.
Anyway, I guess I'll say Ronan for prestige (being the best actress of the group helps) and Robbie for commercial to actually answer.

All of you are wrong! Just by voting on the list, you fail! YOU KNOW NOTHING, MA!
...
I'll explain what I mean: with the rise of both the franchise model and streaming services, couple with the pandemic shutting down cinemas (a large part of them permanently), vaccination going very slowly in most of the world, and social media creating "superstars" who don't really do anything but saying stupid shit and/or looking hot, the days of one or a couple of actors dominating the industry, the media and the conversation, like, for example, J-Law in the first half of the 2010's, are almost certainly over.
Not that we won't have actresses that get a lot of media coverage, win awards and make successful movies, but things will be a lot more disperse than they are now (and that is already way more than it was 10 years ago, which was more than 20 years before), without someone that is well-known and popular worldwide. I also think even the biggest stars will alternate between movies and streaming series/minis/movies even more frequently, so the line between TV and movie star will cease to exist for the most part.
Also, streaming changes the game because there's no need to lure people to go to the movies or watch TV at a certain time, it's already there at any time. In 2020, the biggest "star" in the world, in terms of getting people to watch and dominate the conversation and attention, was...Joe Exotic. That tells you all you need to know.

Lawrence is the classic example of the one to have a huge roaring comeback.
Lots of those will be pretty huge in the 20s, Scar Jo too. Add more names...Emily Blunt, Emilia Clarke, Daisey Ridley, Elle Fanning, Amanda Seyfried, Zoe Kazan, Shailene Woodley all have a shot at being some of the most discussed names.
But I think Lawrence will reign supreme. She's the type that you don't forget despite 6 years of quietude.

From this list, I'm going to go with Zendaya who comes with a ready-made Disney fan base and momentum from her Emmy win combined with her ambition in starring in prestige projects. Be curious to see if she can get to work with auteurs like Jenkins, Coogler, Peele, etc. who are establishing themselves as cornerstones for the next decade or two as African-American filmmakers. If she can get in with them in prestige projects, the sky's the limit for her.
One who's not on this list that I could see making a run is Jodie Comer. She won the Best Actress in Drama Emmy for Killing Eve and the show is ending pretty soon. She's got The Last Duel coming up with Ridley Scott, so the potential for her is there. She has alot of competition though in her age group with actresses like Taylor-Joy, Ronan, and Pugh..so its going to be competitive bloodbath for roles for these actresses in the next decade for sure.
One who probably won't be afforded the chance but I want to have a great decade is Carrie Coon. She's been great for awhile now on TV with stuff like The Leftovers, Fargo, etc. and she had a really great acclaimed performance in The Nest. She won't have the career/opportunities as your Emma Stone, Margot Robbie, etc. but I'm hoping she has a Regina King like run through this decade where she gets multiple Oscar nominations. Terrific actress

There are some good female roles in Joe Turner's Come And Gone that she could potentially be cast in.

Kate Winslet! She'll have Avatar 2, a smash hit Mare of Easttown on HBO, the Lee Miller biopic, probably some sort of Leo collaboration #3, a QT movie, a Fincher movie, a reunion with Ang Lee, and other good stuff!

I think it's still between Jennifer Lawrence (Born 1990), Margot Robbie (Born 1990) and Emma Stone (Born 1988).
Lawrence The most famous name in the bunch, she is making a comeback and will definitely come at the top. Her next projects include co-leading Adam McKay's Don't Look Up with Leonardo DiCaprio, the lead role in Red, White, and Water distributed by A24 and another lead role in Mob Girl.
Robbie She is already one of the most sought-after young actress. She is in the next David O'Russell ensemble film, replaced Emma Stone to star in Damien Chazelle's Babylon with Brad Pitt and has more Harley Quinn movies lined up.
Stone The Oscar winner is a well-recognised face with star power. She'll play the lead in Cruella next which looks like a crazy role. Stone may take a break with her pregnancy but she'll continue to rise after that.
In the awards circle, I would add Saoirse Ronan and Olivia Colman. I can also see Ana de Armas (Upcoming Blonde and The Gray Man) become big in the coming decade and I spot star quality in Florence Pugh (Upcoming Black Widow and Don't Worry Darling).
