Which explains how well Oldman is doing. That's not helping her case. If people watched it and it was in the comfort of their own home and it came out three months ago and she still couldn't score a nod from her peers... then that is worst than saying nobody watched it. It says, they were not that impressed with her performance. It was a blow for sure. But it’s still up in the air. She has a shot at winning still...she is just less assured now.

I thought Small Axe was going to be confusing as far as category placement goes, but I guess I underestimated Hamilton: nominated as a film yesterday and as a television film today.

Still loved Emily in Paris though So you want Daveed Diggs cancelled for not knowing how to use Instagram, but you're stanning James fucking Corden like there's no tomorrow?? Make that make sense.

Hmm, well, Okay, so I guess it is Glenn vs Maria. Surprised Amy scored a nod I was hoping Elizabeth would get one here but it didn't happen. Oh well. Seriously guys, nobody watched Mank. I think Close is more likely to not be nominated than to win, Oscars don't do compensation awards anymore- and before anyone says Leo, just look at the other nominees on the list, he'd have won even if he was a previous winner easily. Specially for a performance in a movie so poorly received. I don't think we can say Close is riding solely on the overdue factor. She was nominated for GG & SAG - and she has won those before. She's also on the shortlist for BAFTA. She is playing against type - almost unrecognizable as the unglamorous, hard edge grandmother. It is the kind of transformative role that AMAPS likes. She is nominated for her performance. She is not the director, producer, writer of the film.
