FMJ...one of the best first acts of any movie ever, followed by a...good and perfectly competent final two. I still love it overall and it made the lower end of my list, but I can't help but feel it would've been one of the GOATs if the entire movie followed Pvt. Pyle and the others throughout basic training.

Proudly one of the three #5s. What a brilliantly (like how-tf-they-do-that?) designed, hysterical vortex it is. "We're all in it together kid..."

So many dystopian movies feel like they could never actually happen. Brazil feels just right: control through consumerism. That bit with the little girl asking Santa for a credit card is one of the saddest and funniest moments I've ever seen in a movie.

Whether or not it made my list doesn't matter - I won't take sides against Die Hard. "Hans, bubby.... I'm your white knight."

Going through the list, and I definitely agree that Totoro and Graves of the fireflies are criminally way too low. Both movies are just wonderful in the exact opposite reasons, and are both the best representations of Studio Ghibli and its various forms of Storytelling. I'm actually not surprised that both of them were on a double bill in Japan at one point, as strange as that sounds.

FMJ was my no. 1. Deserves better than the 20's guys If Last Crusade made it than Raiders had better be higher considering it's just a well made Raiders re-hash.

Weirdly high for a movie that feels extremely drawn out with some iffy perfs (not James Woods who's terrific)
