I love Leone, and parts of that film, however it's a little too messy in parts for this placement. Also some of those child performances are kind of atrocious.

been lurking for half an hour. Beautiful presentation, wilcinema ! Love the gifs, videos and reviews. It's a wonderful mix Some very cool picks so far. Glad A Room with a View got in under the wire lol, and I'm amazed we got My Dinner with Andre to the 30s with just 7 ballots Lovely review, Pelle!

A menagerie of brutality, with nothing to offer outside of "war sure is bad." Ceaselessly violent, cruel, and totally pointless. One case of a "classic" that I cannot get behind at all.

really curious to see if The Shining makes top 10. It's so divisive here.

really curious to see if The Shining makes top 10. It's so divisive here. I'm a huge Kubrick fan but it was not on my ballot. I think it probably makes it high, though, it has a lot of big fans which is what it takes to rank highly.

At this point.... I don't care about the films anymore.
The more the list reaches "the classics" portion, the less I care. I don't wanna keep hearing Kubrick, Amadeus, or Blue Velvet again and again... Zzzzz

Hell yeah love that ET made it as high as it did, could have been an even higher to be honest. I saw that movie on the big screen a couple of years ago, and it was one of the best theatrical experiences I've ever had. It reminded me why the movie is so special and as good as it is.

Ran placing is a very nice surprise, and I actually forgot about it when doing my own list where it should've placed somewhere. ET and Princess Bride in between Fanny and Alexander and Ran... hmmm nice movies are nice but c'mawnnn

#15“Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”The Princess Bride1987~ Rob Reiner252 points from 20 ballots Highest Placement: #1 on 1 ballot-- Pittsnogle_Goggins Look - all my favorite movies are dark, rather bleak and end hopelessly and are filled with despicable characters ..........and if someone doesn't like The Princess Bride or finds it corny I would literally think THEY were weird.

Maybe a tad high for Elephant Man, but I'll attribute that to the well-deserved adoration this board has for Lynch. Amazing performance from Hurt who probably should've won the Oscar.
