It's not a bad total at all, given the circumstances. Probably looking at a ~375m finish. It would have needed about 200m more to break even in its theatrical run, but there should still be a lot of money left to be made after the theatrical run. All things considered I think it will do okay.

Only one movie was able to dethrone "Tenet" at the US box office after a five-week reign... The War With Grandpa

So, is that condidered a moderate success or failure in the covid era?? Racking up over $350m WW in a pandemic is a huge success. Would have easily crossed $1B in a normal year.

That was my initial thought but the pandemic doesn't change the fact that the budget was over 200m... Maybe it's a b.o. success, maybe not but the profits are very limited.

Well, yeah, this particular film's box office will always have to be regarded with an asterisk. Without context, a 200 mil Nolan blockbuster making 55 mil in the US and 350 worldwide sounds like a bit of a flop. But seeing how it was released in the midst of a major pandemic with so many theatres closed, their capacity restricted and people being afraid to go to the movies...I'd say it's a definite success. These are new times we live in!

I doubt, it could 'easily' make a billion.
Don't forget re-releases (I expect them, once things return to normal) plus home media sales. I would say there will be some profit, for Tenet.

I don't see many re-releases happening. Not until summer 2021 at least. Things are far from normal.
