Adam Driver will probably get a part in this. He’d actually fit in quite well.

WE'RE GETTING TWO??! Amazing news. Don't know whether to be happy, sad or neutral about the Netflix deal but it's probably for the best.
This is one of the biggest streamer deals in history at least.
Cannot wait to see who else they cast.

I'll always love Brick, but Rian is an embarrassment. Brothers Bloom was completely mediocre, Looper awful, TLJ an abomination, and Knives Out...meh. Get that bag though!!!

So in this one they realize that legal proceedings take time and the nurse wouldn't get the house right away (if ever).

I hope Netflix starts giving their films wider theatrical runs.
Knives out was great with an audience.

Hey Netflix, can you give me one million dollars?? Seriously, with all the unnecessary money you spend, why not doing a bit of charity??

Knives Out was a surprise commercial and critical hit and made $311.4 million which is excellent but that was on a $40 million budget. Their increasing the budget two-fold for the Knives Out sequels like they're on some Avengers: Endgame type shit. Even in a COVID less world, I don't see Knives Out 2 making a billion plus at the box-office. It might be wishful thinking on Netflix's part for this murder mystery franchise to be the global event they think its going to be. I expect the subscription prices are going to be going up again pretty soon.

That’s the business model. As for a price increase, sure but along the same lines as any of their previous ones. Not going to increase $5-10 in one swoop.

I know Knives Out was a popular film, but it doesn't seem the type of "event movie" that would substantially drive up subscription rates to the point where a 400 million dollar spend for two movies makes any financial sense. I dunno. Maybe Netflix is getting shook by Disney + really impacting the streaming game with their original content. Some analytics are now suggesting The Falcon And The Winter Soldier is now currently the most popular show in the world. This is hot on the heels of WandaVision and The Mandalorian, which achieved similar status.

I see your point Pitts..I just hope they weren't bidding against themselves with this. Would've been curious what the final bid by Amazon and Apple were. Upwards of $450 million for two Knives Out sequels is gargantuan imo..but I know Netflix likes to flex and overspend to get the content they need. Be curious if they have a star studded A-List cast in mind for each sequel..that would make sense with the spending.

I can’t imagine that Disney won’t surpass Netflix as they have the existing catalog and IP for new content that is the perfect model for streaming. I dumped my Netflix stock for that very reason, but hence I still did so very premature unfortunately.

I think when Netflix found out Disney was starting their own streaming service, they knew that was going to be their main competition and its showing based on their spending for content. Apple has potential and Amazon has been around awhile but they are a tier behind Netflix and Disney Plus. But like Flauss said..Daniel Craig needs to be in space for the sequels..lol.
