I saw that rumoured title a week or two ago on AW, but forgot to post it here. All sounds pretty legit.

Sean Penn is really in this movie, or is he just speculating based on that picture of Penn on set (which felt more like a visit from someone who's not in the cast)?? L

Apparently all 3 Haim sisters are in this, not just Alana.

I've been listening to "Life on Mars" picturing the trailer. I hope the scenes does the song justice.

Oh shit if John C Reilly is in this then that's great positive news. IMO he was the best thing in that bloated overpraised Magnolia film. Not a fan of Bradley Cooper and wish it was some other actor in that role. I'll try and keep an open mind though. I've kinda cooled on PTA over the years but I can't deny he has talent. Also cool to hear that PSH's son is indeed the lead in this.

Made sure to say supposedly Someone, a film archivist who is legit, said he saw Tom Waits and Maya Rudolph in the trailer. And someone added their names to the wikipedia page, along with Walken, John C Reilly etc - so no source on every name yet but I figured/hope whoever added those names know 'bout it.

Yeah, looking at the original Reddit thread I'm now seeing people mentioned it's had additional screenings and those people have been spotted. Reilly/Walken/Stiller I'm more dubious of, especially since the original poster apparently didn't recognize any other "celebrities" beyond the ones already confirmed. On Wikipedia Stiller's character even has a name ... "Cowboy Carl" ... God I'd love for this to be true

Walken? STILLER?! TOM MOTHERFUCKIN' WAITS?!?!?!?
Can we talk about how Waits low-key has got a solid amount of auteurs under his belt? Coppola, Gilliam, the Coens, McDonagh, Jarmusch, Babenco, Altman, Tony Scott, Lowery, and now PTA? Get Lynch and Herzog his agent's number!

It won't happen but if I had one wish for 2021 it would be that Sean Penn gets nominated this year for playing a Nazi (um) - and somehow beats Mickey Rourke and Bill Murray for the win again - who's with me! Andrew Bundy @andrewjohnbundy
I have seen the Licorice Pizza trailer projected and it is majestic! Shot in scope. Sean Penn rides a motcycle screaming "I'm a Nazi!" There's a shot of Cooper knelt between two muscle cars -- Red and Blue, of course -- holding hammers that's very PDL. Alana Haim looks amazing!!!

It appears PTA has been playing the trailer at retrospective theatres in LA.

Sean Penn will probably have just a cameo/brief appearance and Cooper a brief supporting role. Seems like it will be more an like an ensemble movie in the vein of Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and Inherent Vice in which everything centers around Cooper Hoffman (it's been rumored that Safdie is actually the co-lead).

Trailer reports have been saying that if anyone is a co-lead with Hoffman, then it's Alana Haim. Safdie is in the trailer for like a second.

Looks Inherent Vice-y. Maybe a dash of Punch-Drunk Love, but not enough.

Maybe.........it seems more commercial than his other stuff and easier to "get".......I want franklin to give his POV on Cooper dammit I mean you can read shit about smashing stuff but you never really know until it's been smashed, yanno? Also you can see why he cast Alana Haim - that 70s look is dead on .....

I'm glad he's back to his gonzo humor, Inherent Vice is among my favorites of the entire decade.

Looks Inherent Vice 2.0. It may be good, but i don’t think much about its awards chances.
And Cooper?? I don't know, he was only ten seconds in and he was doing the same "angry/stressed" schtick he did in American Hustle or Wedding Crashers.
Will they give a nomination instead to Sean Penn despite being briefly in the movie, just to reward him for his mini-comeback?? Who knows? If it's embraced by the Academy like Inherent Vice and Punch Drunk Love, definitely not.

Should be out in it's "legit" form in the next couple of days.........I think you'll like it - uses the Bowie song throughout..........the only thing that's surprising to me is it plays as a teen love story between Cooper Hoffman and Alana Haim (who is not a teen but.......) - though that just may be what the trailer is selling ...........so far I'm not sure - Cooper and Penn had plenty of screen time but less than the couple
