Dude, I genuinely don't understand what you're getting at every time you bring up how well-liked Joker is. Do you really think that those of us who don't like the film aren't aware of that? It means your opinion is irrelevant to these awards I have only ever agreed with that, that's why I think Joker's winning the last prize of the night too, lol.

they didn't play off Phoenix's rambingly cringefest but now they're playing off Zellweger's classy speech? fuck off HFPA

Also it's probably the result of NBC synergy.

so I guess this means OUATIH is definitely winning BP? That's how I see it.. it became clear last month. I'm surprised they gave BP win to 1917 though. Cause chances are high that it wins BAFTA too.

So I got Drama Picture, Director, Screenplay, and Drama Actress wrong. That's pretty bad.

so I guess this means OUATIH is definitely winning BP? That is giving waaaay too much value to the HFPA. I would say it's probably the frontrunner right now, but I think it needs SAG and PGA wins to be "definite." There's still a lot in play here.

Looks like it's between 1917 and Hollywood for best picture.

Unlike Zellweger's hammy, facile, wholly unconvincing SNL Judy Garland impression. Even MORE dreadfully Dewey Cox-esque than Egerton and "Rocketman".

I am glad that my picking 1917 in the What Will Win BP poll looks (a bit) less crazy now.

The Irishman is (unfortunately) done in terms of being a legit BP winner, I think.
It's a shame, but I could even see Little Women peaking at the right time and beating it in Adapted Screenplay.
All acting races are over, I'm confident in that. Phoenix, Zellwegger, Dern and Pitt will sweep.

3 times in the last decade the Oscar BP winner wasn't either Globe winner

Yes, I think Netflix only wins Best Supporting Actress, and The Irishman and Marriage Story lose everything else. I thought maybe the Globes could throw some surprises into acting, but no it looks like another 2017 where we get the same 4 winners everywhere.

I didn't like Zellweger's perf either, that's no excuse for playing her off literal seconds after letting Phoenix ramble on and on and on. It was a classless move.

3 times in the last decade the Oscar BP winner wasn't either Globe winner Specifically three of the last five BP winners. As per usual, people are drastically overreacting to the Globes' results. Absolutely nothing is set in stone in terms of the BP race, and I don't at all see 1917 being a real threat to win BP, even if it does win BAFTA which I'm sure it will (which also hasn't aligned with the Oscar BP for five straight years).
