Everyone in here talking about how they’re not really a fan of Scott or not a fan of lady Gaga. Well I’m not a fan of Gucci. That stupid shit is for middle class douchebags who think they’re upper class

I do however, like the jewelry side a tad more but I think that is a logo thing on my part. My broke ass prefers Chanel. Haha.

Supposedly, this is scheduled to start filming March 2021.

It's pretty evident that DeNiro had to drop out because of scheduling conflicts with Killers of The Flower Moon which starts shooting at the same time in March 2021.

Love this ......for a lot of reasons.......stacked cast...........and he can talk his Merchant of Venice buddy Irons into playing The Fool to his Lear ..........or vice versa ..........although I do worry about the GOAT's weirdo accent possibilities.........

www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/1985/09/16/gucci/40155cdd-63f8-4e88-8b98-df601b3a87e4/Amazing article from '85...... If you can't make a good movie outta this stuff, you're a fool. Shakespearean stuff (which will appeal to Pacino). franklin Let's assume Al is playing Aldo (who else?) - he's patriarch to the family and company, really the pivot to the infighting and family collapse, constantly combating his sons (would be Leto, Huston) and going to court against his nephew (Driver), and later, jail. The article above has him described as "tyrannical, despotic, genial, mercurial, kindly, enthusiastic, demanding." It may turn out quite similar to his Hoffa but with some Italian questo e quello flair. Irons role I think would be smaller, a first-act harbinger, Hamlets-father sort.

Tbh I don't really want Pacino-De Niro to do another movie together, at least not with both having supporting roles (and for sure not another Righteous Kill). If The Irishman is their last movie together, I'm fine with it.
I love Irons and will be happy if he re-teams with Pacino. Great cast anyway.

Yeah I mean I don't know what people want from DePac at a combined age of 157 now - they are - in English-Language films - the finest acting team to ever interact (?)............all-time acting work twice (imo) and 3 masterpieces (imo) across their shared filmographies (Gf II, Heat, The Irishman) ........I mean I'd take another one, but I'm not that greedy either. Love Irons ..........the real exciting "news" here though is that Pacino, may be playing Aldo Gucci - not only is that a great role, it gives him a chance to face-off against Adam Driver who is the Pacino of this generation in a whole lot of ways (looks, apparent career arc , nose-size (um), stage work, etc.). I mean you could feel the tension between them in this photo...........kidding...........kidding

I hope Scott handles this well, because if he does, it will be glorious. The Gucci family was a madhouse.

Forgot about this entirely......really hope the screaming midget does this Gucci movie or confirms it soon........ I’d definitely wanted to see Pacino confirm than this guy who I was hoping wasn’t really going to be in it. On the bright side, almost everyone who was rumored early on as being in it except De Niro, who had a scheduling conflict, have been confirmed, so I’m sure that Pacino will be any time now. ETA: Gucci might be released before Morbius is lol. They really should just release it on a streaming service already, or do a combined thing like Wonder Woman, because I doubt it will be that big anyway. I know anything Marvel seems to turn to gold at the box office, but I still can’t imagine many people thinking, “damn, I got to go see that new movie Jared Leto is the lead actor of.”

Since the roles for Huston, Pacino, Leto haven't been announced afaik it may be they play some of these guys rather than the Gucci family members per se as well and maybe there are still plum parts too: The film will be based on the life of Maurizio Gucci and Patrizia Reggiani up to the murder that shocked the maison. Murder that saw Patrizia Reggiani (accused of being the principal), Benedetto Ceraulo (the material perpetrator who fired four gunshots at Gucci), Orazio Cicala (the driver who helped Ceraulo escape), Ivano Savioni (who physically organized the murder) and Giuseppina Auriemma, accused of being the intermediary between Reggiani and the other boys. www.biccy.it/patrizia-reggiani-lady-gaga/

(Actually I should probably do anything besides being on social media all the time, and it'd be a lot better use of my time lol.) Anyway according to this Leto is going to be Paolo Gucci.

This feels far too expansive for a single film, if I'm being honest. All the Money in the World is a legitimately good film, but it left me wanting more, and I feel like a miniseries about all of this would work better at setting up all the chess pieces.

Yeah just reading about Paolo after finding out Leto was going to play him his life story without anything else could definitely make for a great movie. The rise and fall of the House of Gucci would definitely have more than enough material to fill out a miniseries, and I think it would let more of the actors shine more which would be a big plus. Plus I think Apple and Netflix would have thrown money at Scott too, so cost would have been no object for a miniseries either.

This is interesting because you have Irons and Leto playing Italians (um) and there's like about 4 roles (more?) that fit Luca Marinelli - who I sometimes call the worlds best young actor (arguably) - a dreamy, genuine Italian as opposed to Italian American - and who memorably appeared in the miniseries Trust which was the Getty miniseries which covered the same material as Scott's film. Really curious to see who fills out the rest of the roles/cast....... cherry68 who iirc lived in Italy and probably could be giving us great updates this year but we chased her away with our blah blah blah, dammit - come back cherry!

There is actually not a great deal of news on the film here. Most updates are translations from American trades. I think it would be a good idea to cast an Italian actor in this (Marinelli, Germano and Borghi are the best young-ish actors we have) but not sure they'll go there.

Big Al playing Aldo Gucci - so Jeremy Irons brother and Adam Driver's uncle if I have this right - all these names are confusing - according to his fellow Oscar winner and Golden Globe nominee today (um) Jared Leto: “We haven’t started shooting yet, so we’re just in the preparation phase,” Leto said. “I think we start in about 40-something days in Italy, so yep, exciting and interesting. Ridley Scott’s one of my favorite directors, and Al Pacino plays my dad. So it’s another fun one.”variety.com/2021/film/news/jared-leto-surprise-golden-globes-nomination-gucci-zack-snyder-1234899924/
