But not officially announced yet... Yeah but he will 100% do this movie because playing Aldo Gucci gets him a kick-ass wardrobe. Plus if he doesn't do this - that will be just ONE theatrical film for him in the last 2 years (none in 2020) because only Scott works that fast ......... the one film would be this upcoming PoS where he doesn't even get to wear good clothes anyway - suck in that gut Al

I always say, in Jack and Jill some of his funniest lines in that (unspeakably awful) movie have been over-shadowed by the Dunkaccino bit - my personal favorite line of his is "I used to raise pigeons........oh no, wait that was Brando" Love seeing that photo and him and Irons - hope they have several scenes of one of them yelling his head off and one whispering at his most sinister in $5000 suits. Um..... Last rumor (just a rumor) I heard was a 1 month shoot in Italy March 14th-April 10th and then some final shoots in Florida......Ridley Scott going for that November 24th, 2021 release date, ftw.......

Maybe Matt Damon recommended her? Just to elaborate on pacinoyes' new found love Camille Cottin's part and she's got a whole thread on her TV show and an appearance in "Last Great Performance You've Seen" too - can an appearance in "Current Celebrity Crush" be far behind? Um......... She will play Pina Auriemma who organized the hit (allegedly ) - sounds juicy for her! -
Reggiani’s sorceress, Pina Auriemma, was sentenced to 25 years in prison, which was reduced to 19 years on appeal. She was freed in 2010.

I'm so angry that Italy doesn't have an actress to play one of these big roles. It really puts the Italian industry to shame.

They should start shooting in the Western Alps in the first week of March, before moving on to Milan and Como.

"They should start shooting in the Western Alps in the first week of March, before moving on to Milan and Como." This at least should be the most beautiful movie of 2021 - production design, costumes, cinematography (potentially anyway), hair and make-up ......also I think still one big female role to go (!?!) - if not other roles if I recall correctly. Prayer circle for Huppert to join in March! Without question to me this is one of the top movies to look forward to this year with The Northman, Macbeth, Nightmare Alley, Soggy Bottom etc. - just think of the scope of this film and how this production has to thread the needle on a tight, complex production, post-production, marketing all over a complex story arc and shooting locations. It's kind of nuts ....like nobody will get any "2nd takes" and they can't lose a day of shooting

The House of Gucci era has begun for Gaga. She’s already serving memorable looks.
Great release date if it holds, and then it will be on Paramount+, 45 days after being released in the theaters. I don’t see any reason why this would miss Venice if it really does come out on time.

Filming on the Western Alps is scheduled between the 4th and the 9th of March. The Italian town of Gressoney will serve as Saint Moritz, the Swiss city where the Guccis own a few chalets. A big early 20th-century villa will be one of the sets, and another scene will be set on a ski run in Weissmatten.
Scenes will be filmed in Milan between the second and the third week of March. One will be in Corso Venezia, where Maurizio Gucci was assassinated, and one will be set in the incredible Galleria Vittorio Emanuele (one of the masterpieces of Italian architecture).

Now lots of details are leaking on the Italian press, mostly about locations and logistics though. This is the villa near Lake Como where they will shoot for a week

This is the villa near Lake Como where they will shoot for a week This will be Scott's "The Godfather" - in theory at least with subject and themes (family, betrayals, the clash of Old World vs. The New) - I wonder how long this film will be because it could literally be 10 hours long.......every location shown so far is beautiful. Can't wait to see cast photos from the shoot.......

The editor will have a very tough job because, I agree with stephen, this feels like a big family epic, stuff that nowadays usually airs on tv. The result will either be a masterpiece or a complete mess.

The more I hear about this, the more excited I am for whatever weird shit Jared Leto is going to do in this movie.

From a 2000 New York Post article, what a loving family! Jared Leto gonna be such a prick in the movie. Youtube has a lot of great stuff on this and what's interesting (since I haven't read the specific book it's based on) is if you tilt the POV in any way it's a different story arc. Patrizia Reggiani has that great quote (which you can see her say in one Youtube doc) “Better to cry but in a Rolls-Royce than laugh on a bike” that could be the tagline! Fun trivia fact - this is the only movie ever with 3 male Oscar winners and 2 male Triple Crown Winners at the time of production. I said this in the Jared Leto thread that with this and The Little Things are him playing annoying purposely and it's kind of inspired since he inspires such loathing. It's like Richard Gere in things like Primal Fear, Internal Affairs, Unfaithful where he's better when he loses because deep down audiences collectively hated him. On the other hand I still think it's a mistake to go this non-Italian - the possible accent massacring could be astonishing from all of them but Leto I maybe would prefer not even try one and just whisper his lines or something.

Ok, wait............. my beloved Camille Cottin is NOT playing the part I thought - she is not the "sorceress" /"friend" - Giuseppina (Pina) Auriemma - Cottin is rather playing Adam Driver's lover because she's sexy af. Sorry about that Oscar I promised you, Camille On the other hand the Auriemma role is either still pending or not in the script (which I highly doubt), we'll see......that wasn't even the big role I was talking about in some posts - which was Silvana Barbieri - Gaga's mother which just screams for Isabelle Huppert .......mother and daughter below - ammiright? This is Giuseppina (Pina) Auriemma btw......

Diane Ladd would have been perfect for this role.
