Great Tennis Channel stats today and they are really burying Nadal - ngl - I kind of love this : . * Djokovic is the only male player - ever - with a career 85% or higher winning percentages across each of the 4 Grand Slams:: 91.8% at Australian Open (Hard Court) 89.6% at Wimbledon (Grass) 86.2% at US Open (Hard Court) - this was before 2023! 85% at French Open (Clay) * Grand Slam Match Wins - should pass Fed in a few months .........no one else has 300.........Nadal waaaaaaaaaaay back........ 369 Switzerland Roger Federer 356 Serbia Novak Djokovic (as of today 9/1/23) 314 Spain Rafael Nadal

Nadal is the best 5 set player of the open era.^ Nope ......Djokovic is the only one with 80 wins in all 4 Slams....... now it's 85......he'll pass 90 next year ........he has a chance to get to 100 before he retires if he isn't bored with having all the records

I hate to step into this thread with its reddit-level 'I was born yesterday' tennis discourse, but Nadal does still outpace Djokovic in best of 5 set winning percentage (and Borg is ahead of him) and Federer still sits atop the pack in terms of total wins (though Novak will surely pass that next year).
More importantly, Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and OPEN? Someone get Noah Lyles on the phone.

I welcome your contributions - it sometimes gets lonely in this thread tbh.........and by "lonely" I mean - totally fncking awesome and every post someone else contributes makes it less likely the moderators will lock this thread since I haven't yet begun to gloat tbh ......regardless.............. while I find the total wins (for now) by Frauderer Federer compelling........ I do no find "winning percentage" that compelling at all ..........I find that the chant of the chronic masturbator / moving the goal posts loser rather.............a distortion that bizarrely equates "having clearly won less" with somehow being more impressive than someone having won more Like someone saying "Nobody has LOST more Grand Slams than Novak Djokovic has either - because he's a loser!"This is the "Eli Manning is a better quarterback than Tom Brady" argument because he never lost a Super Bowl and Brady lost 3 and Manning beat him twice..........

Baldy targeting AO24 for his return apparently - I'm sure that will go well meanwhile Djokovic is in his 390th week at number 1 atm: September 11, (THEWILL) – Spanish tennis star, Rafael Nadal, is targeting a return to Grand Slam action at the 2024 Australian Open, according to his uncle and former coach Toni Nadal. The 36-year-old has been sidelined since losing in the second round in Melbourne earlier this year, undergoing foot surgery over the summer. Toni says that if Nadal’s recovery continues smoothly, he wants to play in Australia next year. Nadal’s Davis Cup captain David Ferrer hinted the 22-time Grand Slam champion may attempt a comeback this November if Spain qualifies for the finals. However, Toni stated Nadal’s priority is being fit for the 2024 season, especially the clay events he dominates. Recently crowned US Open champion, Novak Djokovic, is expected to be the favourite in Melbourne, as he chases a record 25th major singles title ATP rankings on Week of September 11, 2011:1. Novak Djokovic 2. Nadal 3. Federer 4. Murray 5. Ferrer ATP rankings on Week of September 11, 2023:

Another sporting icon, track and field legend Michael Johnson has this to say to anyone ridiculous enough to compare Djokovic's ignorant, dangerous anti-vaxx, anti-science positions to Muhammad Ali's civil rights battles
The GOAT was never anti-vaxx - and Djokovic never said he was - you MAR wackadoodles just said he was.......and yeah he can't sing but nobody is good at everything........he did it HIS way after all..........capische, paisan? Djokovic said that his issue with the vaccine and the situation surrounding it was less about doubting the shot's effectiveness, but more about how he perceived it was being forced onto the public. 'I was never anti-vax,' Djokovic said. 'I was always pro-freedom-to-choose. And that's something that we took really for granted. I didn't feel like a lot of people had a choice, really. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/tennis/article-12510927/Novak-Djokovic-claims-never-anti-vax-despite-turned-away-multiple-major-tournaments-refusal-Covid-19-vaccine.html

God, here he goes again. He was never anti-vax, he just didn't want to take the vax. He didn't feel like we had a choice, only everybody had a choice. Some people chose to not put the vax in their body, other people chose not to let those people into their countries.
Championing the freedom to make your own decisions but taking issue with others making their own decisions is always a good way to out yourself as a moron. He sure can play tennis though.

^ Just think how differently things would have been i f he was never invited into Australia in the first place unvaccinated and was politely told "no" - you may not enter the country - this controversy really all stemmed from that and his defense stems from that circus - that whole come here, so we can use you, when you're so willing to be used anyway and "imprison" you and then kick you out .........it's all good though........... he won them anyway, more people like him now than did then (that's very Ali tbh) - when he finishes with what 25 or 26 or 27? - several ahead of Frauderer (um) and Baldnal I will no longer have to hear him equated with such others as................. Margaret Fncking Court.............

He wrote to the government, was told that 'no, unvaccinated can't come in', didn't like it, so wrote to another member of the government, got another letter back confirming what the first person said, and then tried to game the system and smuggle him in anyway. Djoko's success made him a pawn in that game. If he was a nobody Tennis Australia wouldn't have given a fuck about him in the first place. Anyway, there IS a certain poetry to tennis' all-time king and queen being a pair of backwards ass weirdos. Him being the weirdo, her being the ass. *spits*

On a side note, Nadal almost hit the judge in his last set. It was an accident. I think the Djokovic one was an accident too. If Djokovic wants to overcome Nadal, I'd advise him to get his shots like every other player in the draw. Otherwise, he should be satisfied with being Serbias greatest tennis player and the 2nd best male tennis player of the open era. It is what it is. Nope......and what it is - is this: 24 > 22, the Triple Career Grand Slam, the only person to win every 1000 Masters - and he did it twice - and - eventually - the only player with 400 weeks at number 1 and 40 ATP 1000's ............ Career Weeks at #11 Novak Djokovic (SRB) 391 as of 09/18/23 2 Roger Federer (SUI) 310
3 Pete Sampras (USA) 286
4 Ivan Lendl (TCH) 270
5 Jimmy Connors (USA) 268
6 Rafael Nadal (ESP) 209

You can't make ths shit up - this is today: So the guy who got his foot shot up so he wouldn't even feel his foot (!) and it was just numb ffs didn't "want it" as much Djokovic I guees? - I haven't heard losers, losering since the losers on this board acted like 808 on the Sight and Sound Poll is impressive or some shit.......... just say "Congratulations" - he still didn't say it! Interviewer: "Rafa, but with 22 Grand Slams you can't live frustrated, I told you that, is impossible"
Nadal: "Yes you can, for example, I think that Novak in that sense he lives it in a more intense way than I have lived it. For him, it would have been a greater frustration not to achieve it and maybe that's why he achieved"

Nadal has always spoken this way. 'It's not about the target but the journey', expecting him to change now would be, how should we put this, as dumb as an entire fanbase running around the internet demanding congratulations for their schlong of choice in this dick-measuring contest with other peoples wangs. Poor Pavvy G "CONGRATULATE MY HERO IN PUBLIC SO I CAN FURIOUSLY MASTURBATE OVER IT AND SAVOUR MY OWN PERSONAL VICTORY IN THIS MEANINGLESS CONTEST " You would think these people who inhale Djokovic's fumes would accept that he has long talked about the desire to break records, so what is being said here is fairly reasonable instead of the insult the world's most endlessly persecuted fanbase are taking it as.

GTFO redcoat - so he's always been an asshole so it's reasonable he's an asshole now instead of just saying "24 is a lot - Congratulations"? Bah, humbug! Just say his name Baldal - SAY HIS NAME! Um.......... I will say this though - you can spin it and say Djokovic was willing to not play in GS over getting the shot and he was cool with it - because he's like Ali! - but - Nadal was playing like a loon playing while his wife was having a difficult pregnancy, AND shooting his foot full of painkillers and now coming back after a year layoff to (pathetically) try to win one more French .......actually when you phrase it like that they both kind of look bad and weird don't they? ..........Disregard! Disregard!

People keep saying this stuff, 'he abandoned his wife, he took the jab, he injected his foot, etc.' like these are not just things he did as part of his life as a human being and career as a tennis player. Just because these players lunatic fanbases only look at the entire sport as a slam race, and if it's not part of the slam race it is irrelevant, doesn't mean that's the way the entire world looks at it. Like you say, he's planning to come back next year, and he expects it to be his last year. If he had this obsession his detractors insist he probably wouldn't be setting an end date. God damn Captain Ahab never set one.

Relevant Tennis @relevanttennis Rafael Nadal told @movistarplus he is still UNSURE 2024 will be his final season. 🚨🇪🇸
"If I were to tell you that 2024 will be my last year... who knows. What if suddenly my body recovers, and I feel strong and full of energy to continue? As soon as I know the answer, I will share it. I live day by day.
My hope is that within two months, around mid-November, I can have the clarity to say, 'Where am I, how am I, and how is the injury progressing?'. I am currently still recovering. I train 40 minutes per day, three times a week, and I do a lot of work in the gym."
