Djokovic, after his game, wrote on the camera lens "Kosovo is the ❤️ of Serbia, stop violence". This is one of the reasons he kind of courts controversy - he sees himself as quite different than Nadal & Federer who on some level he sees as "rich and privilleged" .......so he will get caught up with stuff - he will often say "I grew up during a war" as a way to differentiate himself People who want him to "shut up and just play tennis" are not really getting what makes him "him" He already is the GOAT and by the time he's done he'll be the GOAT by a lot more than he is right now and that's not just me saying Actor X is the GOAT .....it's far closer to an undisputed fact in his line of work........this answer given this week has a lot with how he sees himself Well, basing on the Serbian people I know, he's a typical Serbian. He goes his way, even if that puts him in trouble, but I guess he's not the type looking for compassion nor help.

Nadal had surgery yesterday - for his hair loss? (What? Not funny?) Arthroscopic surgery on his hip - so I dunno man - playing in 2023 is looking doubtful ...... meanwhile Djokovic who leads in all 5 big awards over any male player ever (Slams, ATP Finals Titles, Weeks at Number 1, Masters 1000s, Year End #1s) is just 4 wins away from #23.......and even if he loses (he might) .......Wimbledon is coming in 4 weeks....... Just sayin' .......

So unless Djokovic blows it on Sunday - which is possible - the dude is only 3 wins out of 9 finals in US Opens for example (wtf) - he's throwing up some incredible GOAT numbers nowadays: * Djokovic is 20-1 in his last 21 Grand Slam semi-finals - * He is 50-2 in his last 52 Grand Slam matches * Career wins over top 10 players: 1) Djokovic 244 if he wins Sunday..........2452) Federer 224 3) Nadal 186 4) Lendl 164 5) Connors 147 6) Laver 146 7) McEnroe 128 8) Sampras 124 9) Becker 121 10) Borg 117

The only way I could like this more is if Nadal literally called himself the 2nd - or 3rd - best tennis player of all time - which he kinda does actually - and admits to his devastating hair loss ......... and also added "Damn, I guess pacinoyes was right - but then again he always seems to be right doesn't he?" This is from last night at his Nadal Tennis Academy graduation......he hasn't been able to make a case as being the GOAT in a loooooooooooooooong time and his spirit seems crushed too...........does he have a comeback in him at next years French Open? Doesn't sound like it imo ........and let's hope not.......because right now this ending to the GOAT race is pretty much perfect .....

because right now this ending to the GOAT race is pretty much perfect ..... I'm still pissed they didn't face off in the 21 US Open or 22 Aussie Open finals when they were tied. Would have been one of the most historically important moments in sports, two guys effectively playing for the GOAT title in their sport. And yes, I agree when the dust settles there will be serious debate as to whether he really deserves to be ranked ahead of Fed. Fed has more total titles, more weeks at no. 1, more slam final and semi final appearances, more ATP Finals wins, and is clearly better on two out of three surfaces. Not sure of Nadal winning a couple more slams due to winning the French Open repeatedly really puts him ahead. There was just a lot of enthusiasm once he passed Fed in the slam count.

^ well, the argument "xy would have won if he weren't injured" is invalid IMO. It's not like these guys were hit by a truck. They got injured playing (but Federer once when he fell in his bathroom washing his children). It's a part of their physical attitude for tennis. We could even claim that if Bjørn Borg hadn't stop playing at 26, he would have become the greatest of all times.
On a side note, N adal almost hit the judge in his last set. It was an accident. I think the Djokovic one was an accident too.greatDjokovic is actually somewhat like Muhammad Ali - it matters a TON that he was healthy. But of course Djoko is a more dumbass version of Ali and harder to like: Ali is considered "the GOAT" Heavyweight - but Ali lost almost 4 YEARS of his his peak 25-28 not fighting for refusing to enter the draft. No one thought he was "right" for doing that then (he wouldn't have actually BEEN drafted, many people thought he was "lying") - the same way Djokovic haters/Nadal fanboys think "Well, Djokovic should have just "got the shot like everybody else!" or "He lied!" ........... Now that "GOAT" is settled - I wanted to come back to this: Djokovic was never "exactly like" Ali - and I never said he was ^ - but he is " somewhat" like Ali in that he stood by his principles - and when you watch this now - well he doesn't seem "a hero" that's going too far - but he does seem "right" ........this short clip will be a part of his legend - it already is.......it's basically like that scene in The King of Comedy where Rupert Pupkin's high school class apologizes to him for the way they treated him and that they were totally wrong and Rupert was right

A new quote from Federer today and a chart that I guess is what he means by "some records can't be broken" because that's a whole lot of records - and almost all of them are under Djokovic's name - just sayin' Luigi Gatto @gigicat7_ Q. Is Djokovic the GOAT?
Federer: "I don't know. What's best, winning Wimbledon at 17 like Becker or RG at 36 like Novak? I don't know. As long as Rafa plays, you can't really answer. Then there are some records that can't be broken." (via Tages Anzeiger)

This argument for Federer at number 2 overall is becoming more of a thing now that the GOAT argument has "officially" been settled (side note: pacinoyes was right.......again ).....the better Djokovic does, the more it always helps Federer since their numbers are more similar ..... and Grand Slam total only matters if you have the most I don't really have a strong argument here between Nadal / Federer as to "who is @ #2" - I get it both ways personally ........but this video came out today and will pretty much be the argument for Federer over Nadal.....assuming there is no Nadal comeback miracle etc. This is becoming a trend towards Federer lately I've noticed:

The only argument for Nadal vs Fed is slam count (which is the most important criterion but not the only one) and the head to head (which is large due to them playing 16 times on clay but only four on grass). Fed has has the overall better career, a bit like how most people think Tiger passed Jack in golf despite having a few fewer majors.

This guy is trip ........this is an insanely long video (40 minutes, wtf!) - to basically say he sees Djokovic winning 1-2 more Grand Slams only......so 24 or 25 total. Just sticking this here as a marker .......that sounds right to me more or less but I basically think he will defintely get to at least 25.......he may lose to Alcaraz a lot.....but he makes finals every tournament still....and he'll play the French '24 if Nadal plays it just as a way to cock block him

Same dude assesses Baldal now - did Djokovic before ^ - says Nadal wouldn't have won AO 22 had Djokovc played (obviously, exactly like I said 18 months ago thx), and according to this guy no more AO, Wimbledon, or USO..........calls him a "great player" but that's not the GOAT is it? Might not be 2nd tbh ......... and says no more French ........so according to this guy : they will end up like this: Djokovic 24/25 Slams, Nadal 22, Federer 20........putting this here as a marker .......we'll see ......I kind of agree but have Djokovic @ 25+ but 25 at the minimum

He's either really depressed about that Wimbledon loss or entering his lunatic terrorist phase........next up Cincinnati Open and then he goes for #24 at the US Open end of August

I may have mentioned this guy before - he's basically a tennis troll like guy called Goatkovic who makes videos on Youtube sort of like I do here with my posts where I break down why Djokovic is #1 - and Nadal is at best 2nd - arguably 3rd behind Fed.......his new joke is to list every Nadal stat with an asterisk (*) and no longer explain it - ie he stole AO 22 - because Djoko was healthy but barred from playing.......he does this for EVERY comparative stat now ......pretty funny

I think Nadal ends up with the Grand Slam record, and Djokovic will either just fall short of Federer's current mark of 20 or tie Federer - pupdurcs Oct 13, 2019 at 7:10pm also, I love this .gif .......

Wimbledon loser, 36 year old geriatric, antivaxxer (he's not btw) back in America - after 2 years baby - since he can't you know infect us with The Covid (um, thanks Joe Biden).........can he win the US Open '23? I doubt it.......but since he's the GOAT and holds almost every tennis record .......I'm not betting against him myself tbh......in Cincinnati this week:

I said this before - nothing would be more Djokovicrazy than winning the US Open after losing Wimbledon......but I don't "think" he will do that in 2023......but on the other hand he might......on the other hand (um, if you have 3 hands) he could lose in his first round today in Cincinnati, yanno? Back in ths US for his 1st singles match in the US in nearly 2 years - tonight .......the GOAT......

The GOAT might not win every tournament he plays........but he pretty much gets to the finals of almost every tournament he plays at 36 yanno? in the Cincinnati finals today against Alcaraz........again.....sigh: Big Title finals appearances since 1990 (Grand Slams + Masters 1000 + Year End Finals) - his 100th
100 Novak Djokovic
92 Roger Federer 86 Rafael Nadal 43 Pete Sampras 42 Andre Agassi 35 Andy Murray 20+ Boris Becker 16+ Stefan Edberg 15 Daniil Medvedev(+ Becker & Edberg also reached multiple GS/YEC finals prior to introduction of Masters Series in 1990)

After that incredible Cincinnati Masters 1000 final yesterday........... the GOAT doing GOAT things: * If Novak Djokovic wins Monte Carlo 1 more time he will have a Triple Golden Masters.......no one else has won it once. GTFO * 95 career ATP tour wins - ahead of Baldal (finished at 92?) and creeping up on Federer (103) * Djokovic waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead on the Big Titles - extending his record on the most important titles

The GOAT ...........of Clay ........and world number 140 showing he can still walk (barely) and plotting his return.....looks kinda mad here.......still maybe can win '24 Olympics (doesn't matter!) and go deep at French Open 24 .....I do worry..........nah, not really.......

Back to world number 1 with his win tonight - going for 400 total weeks if he can win this US Open (he'll be at 390 weelks starting September 11 regardless of how far he goes!).....only Federer has 300 (310) and Nadal will likely be DOUBLED (209) The GOAT.......
