Blade Runner isn't a top 10 Ridley Scott movie. Correct! But The Final Cut is.

I love Hitchcock but Polanski, Argento, DePalma, Chabrol at times ..........among others took his vision, the "Hitchcockian" film where he couldn't go - he is held back by the times he worked in and when the times changed and granted him a new freedom........he was pretty much done.
Summer in the US is a 3+ month period of insufferably hot weather, sh itty movies, and mass mental illness.

Natalie Portman's performance in Jackie is a meme and the movie itself isn't good either.

People faulting The Room for not adhering to superficial standards of ''quality'' while using pseudo-objective metrics to justify themselves has become a huge pet peeve of mine recently. The Room is one of the most subversive films ever made and it needs to start being recognized and viewed as such, a product of a singular mind which has almost singlehandedly shattered the (already thin) line between good and bad art, and which should be admired and celebrated for this reason alone.

Revenge of the Sith is one of the better Star Wars films and if you use RLM as your argument against it, you're a tool. Criticizing the "NOOO!" scene is extremely immature
Paranormal Activity and Spider-Man 3 are better 2007 releases than There Will Be Blood

I think it's a bad film but it's absolutely fascinating and compelling and like nothing else and it's a bummer that most people just see it as another "so bad it's good" movie thing because that's bullshit.

Yeah. I don't have a problem with people finding it bad per se, just with those not acknowledging that there's clearly something more to be discussed rather than automatically dismissing it with typically shallow critiques like ''bad acting'', ''bad dialogue'', ''bad cinematography'' and so on.

Well I didn't think this was unpopular before, but after reading the last few replies...
The Room is a piece of shit movie and no amount of online cult following is going to change that.

Islam desperately needs to reform. I am glad that you adress it that way. Today it feels like a lot of people see it as straight out evil and proceed to underline that with heaps of quotes taken out of context (which is of course a foundation for a new religious war...). Modern atheism is just the worst, if I've ever seen pretentiousness... Clearly coming from someone who's never read any of the so called holy texts. The context makes it worse.

Ben Affleck > Jeremy Renner in The Town.
Affleck was never getting into Lead as it was too much of a stretch and I don't begrudge Renner his nom in Supporting, but against each other, Ben was better by a mile.
Sorry not sorry.

I don't care how much you love Get Out, any nominations or wins for its ensemble are fucking laughable. Beyond Kaluuya (who is very good) the cast ranges from serviceable (Whitford) to terrible (Williams and Howery).

But yeah, I really didn't like Williams and Howery, funny though he is, feels like he's from an entirely different movie.
