Something nice - REALLY nice - about wrestling and its history - for a long time in America it was the great equalizer: Rich, poor, black, white - and across multiple ethnic groups whether they spoke the language or not......... old, young, male and female could afford to go and sit side by side and enjoy it. No other sport (so to speak) and certainly not Broadway or concerts etc. could entertain people like that and as diverse as that too. A wrestling crowd in 1976:

Make a list of things I love: 1. The Ramones 2. This Wrestling thread ...........apparently 3. Pacino film characters..........in wrestling especially 4. Obscure new songs in 2020 - like this new one by The Follow Ups 5. Now......... Combine all the above and the pacinoyes meta-ness of this post is almost overwhelming.....

Best real wrestler-fan interaction - Terry Gordy pushing this guy the way he would if you told him you didn't have some cocaine or beer.....

Happy Birthday to the despicable Eric Bischoff - 65 years old May 27th.
The greatest OTT promo in history at Bischoff's expense - ripped money, mountains of cocaine (probably), thrown shoes, Rolex's, moobs, handcuffs, boxers underwear.
Like all great acting smart enough to know that more is more.......and a great closing line.
Performance starts to peak at 2:00.....Nic Cage would totally get this.......

Happy 63rd to Bret Hart ....love him or find him (maybe slightly) dull on mic at least ......the event that changed wrestling forever and in a lot of ways was sort of born out of Flair coming into the WWF in '91 with the WCW belt and the fear that actually caused in wrestling companies - IF you believe this was actually "real" - and which weirdly made me sexually excited to visit Montreal one day since I misunderstood what a "Montreal Screwjob" meant. Was it a work...........was it a shoot......and if it was a work why does Vince let someone spit in his face......um. Hmmmmmm

Classic Awfulness - I posted this once a long time ago in the "funny" thread but it should be in this thread and I particularly like the beginning where it looks like he might cry........."Yup!"

One of my favourites as a kid.

Who were the greatest "sustained" heels ever? Guys who could play the villain and get the most mileage out of it? A lost art ......Terry Funk......Flair especially pre-championship run when he often walked the line of god guy/bad guy depending where he was (late 70s early 80s)......Tully Blanchard........and the late great Gino Hernandez.......a huge loss who died at 29. Almost every interview he did was offensive in some way .....

Not sure if it's Flair or not, but those seats I definitely recognize as belonging to the Long Island Railroad and that's some typical LIRR madness.

Yeah..its unclear..some people/wrestling site twitter handles are saying it is him..some are saying it isn't. They say he usually rides private jets and limos and what would he be doing on a train which makes sense..but then the dude in the pic has an awful similar hairstyle and color as the Nature Boy..so TBD I guess. When I saw his name trending I thought he had joined AEW and then when I looked it up I went

In memory of Scott Hall, thought I would post one of the most famous promos which set the Monday Night Wars into overdrive. Brilliant in its appearance and execution.

The Irishman of wrestling events? also Ric Flair's last go....? "Flair will return to the wrestling ring at Nashville Fairgrounds for his "final match." Flair, 73, will lace up the boots for the first time in 11 years as a part of the Starrcast pro wrestling fan fest on July 31. Flair's opponents and the rest of the event card has not been announced. The event will be streamed on FITE, and tickets go on sale May 27."
