Time to cancel the Count from Sesame Street... teaching this man to count as a child. Pathetic. It's 2021 people, wake up!

Bill Whitaker might be my favorite guest host so far. Smoooooth voice, expeditious delivery, no nonsense but still pleasant. Hasn't had an amazing rapport with the contestants so far, but neither did Trebek most of the time tbh.

Almost forgot that the Tournament of Champions was this week...
Glad that Jason at least has a shot at a wild card spot. Too bad he got trampled by Ryan, who I have no memory of seeing previously for some reason, but I don't think I've ever wanted to punch a contestant in the face this bad before...

If Jennifer wagered everything on that DD, and then enough on that FJ, she would have won. She chose to hand it to Sam, a winner with an asterisk due to Jennifer's lack of confidence next to his name instead.
I don't want to begrudge Sam, but winning because the best player overall didn't have the confidence to pull it off makes me not want to rewatch any one episode of this tournament. (Except for Veronica's Semi-final win.)

Sort of bummed that Jason wasn't a finalist, but at least we didn't have to endure that smug ass-face Ryan for the last couple games.

The dude absolutely stomped them both yesterday. Overall, a fun tournament. Like Cake, Jason was my main rooting interest... but at least we had three chill and pleasant contestants in the final. And Buzzy absolutely killed it. Right now he's my pick to permanently take over. Keep it in the Jeopardy family with someone much more likable than Ken.

Just go all in on the daily double, it's not complicated. If you're a contestant on Jeopardy, especially tournament of champions, more often than not you're gonna get the daily double right. Have some fucking balls, I'm constantly yelling "pussy" at the tv

I wanted McKenzie. She was really close, but one $2000 question missed and she finished 10th. If she went through, I think she could've gotten to the final 3, but not win it because I think those Final 2 were gonna end up #1 and #2 either way.

Yeah, "asterisk" is a bit much, but to lose because you're too timid to wager vs. to lose because you can't catch up? You're supposed to be overconfident in the ToC, not underconfident, ffs. By the time she got the DD in Double Jeopardy, she decided she was playing against Veronica.

The finals would have been a bloodbath.

Kind of stunning how no one responded to that bit from the Gettysburg Address.... you know, the most quoted excerpt from probably the most famous speech in American history.

Mayim Bialik has been pretty solid. Miles better than Katie Couric, the only other female guest host we've had so far. Also, the current champion Julia is cute as hell. Love her hilarious facial expressions...

Last month, we had an episode where none of the contestants knew who was Oscar-nominated four consecutive times in the '70s, and now today there was a clue about David Mamet and the premise of American Buffalo, but no one could name the play's title.... Live footage of pacinoyes watching Jeopardy:

$74k for Matt today... are we looking at the most dominant contestant since James Holzhauer?
I don't really like him though tbh... he bores the shit out of me and all of his responses starting with "what's" like some sort of a caveman really pisses me off.
Safe to say LeVar Burton hasn't lived up to the hype either. He's flubbed more in four shows than all the other guest hosts have combined.

The top three candidates - Richards, Bialik and Cohen - were my top three choices as well. I'll be happy with any of them, as they were head and shoulders above the rest of the pack.

Oof, thank God Bialik didn’t get it, then. She chuckled after almost EVERY answer given by a contestant, regardless of whether there was anything at all funny about it, and it got old quick. Not sure how anyone couldn’t be at least a little annoyed by that. Buzzy was easily my favorite and would have been my personal choice. Richards was perfectly fine and professional, though it’s kinda funny that after this parade of celebrity guest hosts, it looks like the job is just staying in-house with the guy that runs the show, lol.

Well.... Richards is the executive producer so he does have an advantage, but personally.... Savannah Guthrie or Levar Burton were my favorite hosts, so it would be one of those 2 if it were up to me.
Richards is gonna retire as host by the time Matt is done, however tho.

www.thedailybeast.com/jeopardy-set-to-announce-mayim-bialik-and-mike-richards-splitting-host-dutiesThe long-running game show is set to reveal not one, but two hosts, The Daily Beast has learned. Sony Pictures Television is set to announce that Jeopardy! executive producer Mike Richards will host the long-running daily syndicated program and actress Mayim Bialik will host primetime and spin-off specials of the famed quiz show, The Daily Beast has learned. The current version of the show, which was hosted by the late Alex Trebek for 36 years, has featured a series of guest-hosts following Trebek’s death last year as executives grappled with who was best to fill the iconic role. Richards, who had been the frontrunner for a hosting gig, will start Season 38 as host of the daily syndication while Bialik, best known for her starring role in CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, will host new spin-off series—the first of which will be the Jeopardy! National College Championship on ABC. There was heated competition to succeed Trebek, with a slew of guest-hosts over the last several months—including stars like Katie Couric, LeVar Burton, Aaron Rodgers, Anderson Cooper, George Stephanopoulos, and Robin Roberts. Earlier this week, Richards came under fire for his previous role at The Price Is Right, where multiple models accused producers of discrimination and harassment during his tenure as the game show’s executive producer. “These were allegations made in employment disputes against the show,” he responded in a memo sent to Jeopardy! staff and reviewed by The Daily Beast. “I want you all to know that the way in which my comments and actions have been characterized in these complaints does not reflect the reality of who I am or how we worked together on The Price Is Right.”

hopefully Bialik will learn that she doesn’t have to chuckle after each correct answer given by a contestant. That was my one pet peeve when she guest hosted; otherwise she was fine I guess. But it sounds like it’s not so much of an even “split” really if Richards is hosting the usual daily show and Bialik is only doing “primetime and spin-off specials.” Though what exactly are Jeopardy “primetime and spin-off specials”? Like she’ll be the host for all of the various tournaments maybe? (eg. Tournament of Champions, College Tournament, etc.?)

How would everyone rank the guest hosts? Top tierMayim Bialik - Aside from the some minor quibbles with her giggling, she probably has better chemistry and better grasp of reading clues than anyone else. Mike Richards - The most "Alex" of the hosts. He's fun to watch. Buzzy Cohen - I only saw one or two days of his run, but he seemed like a very classical, Alex-type presence. Pretty goodBill Whitaker Ken Jennings Savannah Guthrie David Faber Levar Burton - I think he was fun to watch for his sheer enthusiasm, but he stumbled more than everyone else put together. Joe Buck WhateverRobin Roberts Sanjay Gupta Anderson Cooper George Stephanopolous EwwwwwKatie Couric Aaron Rodgers - Seriously the most boring man possible. I saw someone say that he responds like he's at a press conference he desperately doesn't want to be at. Dr. Oz
