Quack Oz as host and massive weirdo/unbelievably slow answerer Amal as champ will probably make this the worst week of Jeopardy ever.
Katie Couric was undeniably goofy, but holy shit... I'd rather have her for a month than Oz for a week.
There's also this:

Watching oz for the first time and yea he sucks. Worse than couric, holy fuck just bring back back Richards until it’s time for the next guest host

Something that I've never noticed before Oz, but there have been a couple times this week where it sounded like they had to redub him reading some of the clues lol

>zoom class today instead of work >tune in to jeopardy a few minutes late thinking it’s Aaron Rodgers week >hear oz’s voice >back to crusader kings
I mean god damn couric was bad but at least it was watchable with her

Dr. Oz’s torturous run has finally ended...Aaron Rodgers next week, fuck yeah!

"Who wanted to kick that field goal?" Lmaoooooo, should have known someone would make a jab like that, it's such low-hanging fruit.
Kind of love how chill Rodgers is as host... laid back and not try-hard in the slightest. A refreshing change of pace, and already way better than Couric and Oz.

I just started the show, but yikes he looks just like Jake G in Nightcrawler. I've never watched the NFL, I had no idea.

Rodgers was awesome... and this was only his first show. All of the guest hosts (even fucking Oz) have gotten better as they went along. He also wants the gig full-time:

I found him just okay. He has one of those monotonous voices that puts me to sleep. Not his fault, but voice and communication is a big part of the show. He's a lot better than Couric and Oz, but not as good as Jennings (pretty good) and Richards (actually pretty excellent). As far as the guest hosts go, the only one that I'd like to see is Richards. He's the one guy with real spark.

Anyone see that LeVar Burton is willing to throw his hat in? On paper, he's the best man for this job. I think that he'd be a lot better than any of the guest hosts we've had. Reading Rainbow shows that he can communicate with an audience. He's the one guy that actually excites me as a possibility.

Joe Buck??? Fuuuuck, I hate that smug bastard. Hopefully he’s less annoying as a Jeopardy host than he is calling football games.

First impression of Cooper is that he's almost as lifeless as Rodgers. Too bad, this is the guy I was looking forward to seeing. Not really feeling any of the guest hosts outside of Richards.

I thought Anderson Cooper would nail it, but he's been surprisingly lame. Boring delivery and a lot of weird pauses (that poor lady tonight who got both daily doubles wrong and had to suffer his dramatic pauses both times ). Next round of guest hosts looks pretty lame too tbh:

I wish they would get more actors or celebrities people would actually want to watch instead of all these boring news anchors/journalists/sportcasters...

But the rest are a snooze fest, yeah.

Easy movie category for Final today... my wife laughed at me because my first response to the contestants guessing 12 Years a Slave wasn't "There's no German dentist in that movie" but rather "That movie is from 2013!" Also, in the music scales category, I lol'd when the guy answered blues instead of chromatic (Schoenberg, of course famed for his blues compositions ). Though since the clue emphasized the word "colorful," I can see why someone would guess that. The first clue in that category was weird though - singling out Beethoven for using the diatonic scale? It would be like if a clue said "Shakespeare used English to write plays" or "Orson Welles used film to make movies." Out of all the classical music-themed categories that have been featured on the show, it seems like contestants tend to have more knowledge about opera than general music fundamentals, which is funny because opera's not really my thing, so I tend to not do that well in categories specifically focused on opera. Just an interesting trend I've noticed.

Just an interesting trend I've noticed. Operas have stories and tidbits you can latch onto for memorization, if you're prepping for Jeopardy. Music fundamentals requires actually learning everything that goes into music and knowing how it all fits together. I can see why people with no deep knowledge of either would find it easier to retain opera information over the drier basics of how music fits together.

That's true - I guess since opera is kind of a niche topic, it sometimes surprising to me when people are more familiar with Verdi operas than what seem like basic things you'd learn in elementary school music class while singing or banging away on a xylophone.

Um, I haven't watched in a while - I mean why would I, I know everything, ammirite? but seemed pretty ridiculous......or not.......I mean serious......um......I don't even know any more ........forget I said anything.....runs away swiftly A group of 467 alleged former Jeopardy! participants issued an open letter on Medium Wednesday, demanding an apology from the show producers for not catching a “Jeopardy!” winner allegedly flashing a white power hand gesture........
“A couple of years ago, a contestant unintentionally wagered a monetary amount that used numerical values coopted by white supremacist groups and, since the total didn’t affect the outcome of the game, ‘Jeopardy!’ digitally altered the numbers in the version that aired,” the Medium letter claimed. “This should have been done in this case. Intentional or not, the burden was on the production team to catch the similarity to a hate symbol and make sure it didn’t end up on air.”

This is a manufactured controversy because
A. The whole thing started when trolls are 4chan decided to start telling people the ok sign was a "hate sign" so the left would start getting offended by it and look dumb. Upon discovering this they then proceeded to.........get offended by it and look dumb. Self awareness is not their strong suit I guess. The whole point of this is to goad the left into getting offended by dumb stuff so they can push the "OMG SNOWFLAKE SJWS" talking point. Just stop taking the bait every single time.
B. He's not even doing the OK sign. His fingers are off to the side, not straight up, and no one does it against their chest. He did the same thing with 1 and 2 the other days after he won. This is really entering into "moral panic" territory at this point.
