I started The Witcher III about two months ago and I've barely made any progress. Not that I dislike it, I actually enjoy it quite a bit, it's just that I rarely find time to game anymore. I'll need to get back into it soon.

The Last Guardian - Beautiful game, even if the dog not doing the things I want him to gets on my nerves at times. have it lying on my shelf since christmas, excited and a little scared to play it, seems a bit like i will either hate or love it!

So far I am very happy with it in comparison to something like Skyrim which I never got quite into because the world never really seemed properly alive, but the world in the Witcher is SO lively! Have only played like 3 hours or so, so far though, and I have to admit it is a bit of struggle to get into everything, but I am really hoping I find the time to do so!

Agreed about Skyrim, I never got into it either. I couldn't adjust to the game mechanics and just couldn't get myself interested in the story or the world. I had the same problem when I tried Fallout 3, as they're essentially the same game with different settings. I guess Bethesda's just not my thing.

I did actually manage to get into Fallout, but I think the post-apocalyptic setting with the sort of retro-futuristic design just really speaks to me, so even though I had a lot of the same annoyances as with Skyrim I still enjoyed it. The problem also with Skyrim is that it is just such an exceptionally bland and generic fantasy setting.

I'm about halfway through Uncharted 3. I'm enjoying the series but the gun fights can get pretty repetitive. I heard this gets better after the first game but honestly I've found it to be a problem in all of them so far. Still, love the story and voice acting and there are some great set pieces.
And even though it can piss me off I can't stop playing NBA 2K17.
Looking forward to playing Nioh as I hear it's kind of like Bloodborne which is the best game I've played in years.

Skyrim. Just got a PS3, and I picked this up with the Mass Effect trilogy. This game is really a bit of a bore, but it's an easy timesink that I don't have to stress over. That's a good description. The story and characters were absolutely non-existent in being interesting or having any depth at all. And after the fifth dragon kill, it lost it's novelty. But I did spend 44 hours on it before decided I got all I was going to get out of it. Probably did about 20% of the story, if that.

I'm probably staring the new Doom game soon. Currently enjoying some Overwatch multiplayer.

Overwatch is always in a constant rotation. I just bought Elder Scrolls Online and have been digging that. Just started Tell-Tale's Batman and beat Episode 1 the other day. I've been slowly playing through Life Is Strange. I've beaten the first 3 episodes so far. I just recently played and beat Dragon Age: Inquisition three times in a row. Easily sunk 300 hours into it. Probably my favorite combat system for any single player game I've ever played.

I've been in the middle of KOTOR and Kingdom Hearts for like two years. I'm just not an RPG guy, it seems.

Horizon: Zero Dawn - Fifteen hours in, and I'm adoring it. Best combination of elements from Elder Scrolls to Monster Hunter, massive and vast environments with so many secrets, powerful enemies and great combat requiring added levels of strategy and stealth, jaw-dropping visuals and artwork, incredible music and sound design, side quests and errands with genuinely great content and variety (unlike other OW games that rehash the same mission type over and over), and while the story is the least interesting part of the game, the mysteries of what's happening are intriguing, and Aloy is proving a fierce and charming protagonist.

Finally finished Horizon Zero Dawn. All my previous compliments earlier still stand, and the story actually proves a great, compelling, and satisfying quality as the game progresses.
Absolutely fantastic game, taking obvious influence, but spinning all of them in their own unique ways. And yes, slaying a giant ass bionic T-Rex is every bit as satisfying as it sounds.

The original Gears of War - The only reason I really got into it was because I got Gears 4 for Christmas, so I'm marathoning the series. I'm really not enjoying myself with this. The shooting and cover system gameplay itself is passable but generic, clunky to control, the environments and color schemes are needlessly muted and dark, making it difficult to tell who I'm fighting or where the hell I'm supposed to be shooting half the time, and it's populated by these cookie-cutter, machismo stand-ins that I know nothing about, and have no reason to care about. Would I be missing anything if I just skipped the game and dived right into the sequels?

I started playing Torment: Tides Of Numenera recently and so far it's great. The world is extremely interesting, the story and characters are engaging and there's a lot more talking than fighting, which was obvious as the game was heralded as the successor of Planescape: Torment. So far, it doesn't seem to reach the depth or grimness of Planescape: Torment (but what fantasy rpg will?), but I'm enjoying it a lot.

Does anything stand out about that game though? The doom imagery? What? Just trying to figure out what people see as distinct about it. Which game are you referring to? Planescape: Torment? If so, what makes the game unique for me is it's story, which is extremely personal and character based, has a lot of philosophical depth and is extremely well written. It also offers myriad of role-playing possibilites (I mean with different in-game choices), more so than any other western rpg I've played. It features some of the most interesting companions in gaming as well. I think the main reason that makes it distinct from other games is that it plays out more like an interactive novel than an actual adventure game, as other than the huge walls of text it has in most dialogues, the fighting is kept to a minimum and most battles (even boss ones) can be ended in non-violent ways.

Been playing Battlefield 1 with my brother whenever we both have the time, and otherwise been playing Divinity: Original Sin cause I've been listening to some actual play Dungeons and Dragons podcasts like a cool person with cool friends and needed something to scratch that RPG itch. Though the last Dark Souls 3 DLC just came out so I'm gonna have to dust off ol' Dame Maggie Smith and and naked punch my way through that some time soon.

Just beat The Force Awakens II tonight. I remember getting this when it first came out and not liking it at all. I think I played maybe two hours of it originally and returned it the same day it came out. It was much better this time around. The gameplay for the most part is smooth and fun. It does get a bit tedious and some of the fights are annoying in that you get overrun by enemies that each can only be killed by a certain attack and they all are different attacks. You attack one and 3 others hit you from behind canceling your attack and taking a good chunk of health. Dashing around doesn't always work as sometimes snipers are far off in the back and hit you no matter what. The few times that happened it took a little bit to get past, but other than that and the final boss taking forever because of how repetitive it is I enjoyed it. The story was pretty cool. Glad it was free on Xbox One though.
Still haven't gone back to TellTale Batman or Life Is Strange. Downloaded Darksiders today. Going to give that a try tomorrow. Beat Mass Effect: Andromeda again two days ago. Bidding my time until Injustice 2 comes out. Thankfully that is followed with Tekken 7 a week after.
