This is a little odd because these 2 are wildly different but :
Glenda Jackson about to cause a big stir on stage again as a gender-crossing King Lear (and last years Tony winner) hasn't been in front of a camera since..........the 90s? Don't you think someone would want to get something major or a casting coup out of something with her? Has she actually said she's retired from film (?)
Denzel Washington - who is on a crazy hot streak - 2 BA nods and a Tony nod in his last 3 roles at 60+ (!) has nothing on his IMDB page. That isn't that odd - he is always choosy - but he has been sort of silent relative to his age (64) and ambition. He did do 2 projects each in 2010, 2012, 2016.
Who's someone you're "waiting" to hear about or that's just dropped off the radar for you?

John Lone is always a big question mark for me in this regard. Gave several of the more compelling film performances of the 1980s - Iceman, Year of the Dragon, The Last Emperor, The Moderns. Then tapered off from one final career highlight (Cronenberg's M. Butterfly) into B-grade villain roles in the 90s, and finally stopped working entirely after 2007.
More recently, Michael Fassbender went from having several (usually 3-4) films in various stages of production at all times for the past decade to basically nothing after 2017 except the forthcoming X-Men film. Seems kinda weird for someone riding such a career peak to suddenly hit the brakes that hard...

I'm calling the cops.... Where is Holly Hunter??? She was wonderful in Manglehorn, very good in The Big Sick and got a lot of critics noms and SAG but missing an Oscar nom was a tough break, Mary J Blige I think stole that from her somehow (how the hell?) but I wonder if she got in if more roles would've glided her way. Here and Now the insufferable HBO show was cancelled - I couldn't get thru more than a few eps, she was ok but I don't think anyone could've improved those awful scripts. She prob recorded The Incredibles voice years ago. So now what? She hasn't signed onto a project in like two years! Where are all the TV offers???

I'm still waiting on the Nick Stahl comeback . IMO he was a good young actor in the early 2000s but fell off the map (drug problems etc). Last I heard he's been focused on his soberity so that's good. He's still young enough to make a come back in Hollywood. I hope it happens.

Sarah Michelle Gellar hasn't made a film in 10 years, all she's done is bits and pieces in television.
It's a shame, as I thought in the mid 2000s that she could have gone on to be one of the biggest actresses of her generation.

I think she's way too busy being a mom AND entrepreneur nowadays. She's one of the founders of foodstirs.com/But yeah, I'd love her to return to "proper" acting someday.

That's the risk of television (or at least it used to be. Maybe it's changing a bit). You become so associated with an iconic role you play for several seasons, that it's hard for people to see you as anything else. She's always going to be Buffy, just like William Shatner is always going to be Kirk. At least financially, SMG is probably set for life. The money she made off Buffy (and the residuals) probably means she doesn't have to work.

Hell yes about Martin Brest! You'd think he has enough good movies under his belt to survive some flops. Was thinking about him when that Gallo scripted De Niro vehicle was announced. Yeah George, you wrote it, let Marty direct it and let lightning strike twice! James Woods is too talented an actor to waste his time on twitter or whatnot. I always have a soft spot for character greats who populated so many great and not so great things from decades past. Getting older ain't easy, I know, but maybe a part or two more for Joe Don Baker, please?! Or James Tolkan? Or something with Wilford Brimley that more than three people care about? And I always wondered why there weren't more pictures of retired Gene Hackman over the past couple of years. I only know about one that's maybe 1,2 years old. But apart from that, nada. Yeah, respect his privacy, still always wanted to know how he's doing.

Fred Ward hasn't done anything since a small role in True Detective season 2 (outside of a rumored appearance in the failed Tremors pilot). I miss that crazy bastard...

Unexpected but very welcome was the return of Everett McGill after nearly 20 years.
(And soon Joe Pesci)

Sissy Spacek....
2018 she did two series, a movie, and music video... Not a peep since! It isn't like she lost her amazing loveliness or talent (she's terrific in Castle Rock).
Fassbender still eerily absent-feeling too, despite the soccer movie.

Oh honey, that actress who was married to Frank Sinatra and who was also Woody Allen's partner before it all went horribly wrong... You know, the one who had too much tannis root... She seems to be a Mia.

Brenda Blethyn one of my favourite actresses.
She should made much better optio for all the Meryl Streep movies from the past 10 years.-

Just saw an interesting interview with Kevin Kline - maybe the next man to join the Triple Crown club one day (1 Oscar, 3 Tony's, 0 Emmy's) - or next American male anyway - and he hasn't made a movie since 2017. Has 3 in the can though.....and a fourth where he plays himself. He's 73 now...... One he reteams with Sigourney Weaver too - The Good House
