Sissy Spacek.... 2018 she did two series, a movie, and music video... Not a peep since! It isn't like she lost her amazing loveliness or talent (she's terrific in Castle Rock). Fassbender still eerily absent-feeling too, despite the soccer movie. It's sad that Meryl got all the good roles for old women. Sissy would've been way better for pretty much all of them.

Oh honey, that actress who is Canadian and was in Atom Egoyan's Exotica and played Elizabeth Short in the Black Dahlia movie. She used to date Sam Shepard but not sure who's she is with now. This one. She looks a bit Mia to me...

Considering there aren't many younger actors I like..... where the hells Alden Ehrenreich? Seems he hid after Solo which wasn't even that bad and then did a tv series last year that I heard about for the first time about two minutes ago. Nothing coming up.
Badly handled career after being, deservedly, all the talk of Hail Caesar. I mean he's worked with Coens, Coppola, Woody, Chan-wook Park, Warren Beatty.... keep it going!

I said it in another thread, but Joseph Gordon Levitt, aside from a brief and forgettable appearance this year in The Trial of Chicago 7, disappeared from the Hollywood scenes after the two big flops The Walk and Snowden.
Miles Teller too after Fantastic Four and a couple of other forgettable films released in 2016. Yes, he's in the next Top Gun but still, he's not anymore that promising new leading man material which he was briefly hyped for.
Tom Hardy after a fantastic 2015 (Mad Max Fury Road and The Revenant) kinda faded a bit. After the critical failure of Fonzo, he's just doing Venom sequels now.

I think the Venom movies help grow Hardy's popularity. For sure he needs to be cast in more character-driven films....with talent like that it's wasted in movies like Capone instead of Locke.

Enoughs enough.... Where is Adele Haenel?? She hasn't filmed anything since early December 2018 (Portrait of a Lady on Fire). She's 32 and hasn't yet filmed a movie in her 30s......what's going on? She signed with the biggest American agency CAA last February.... joined the Academy last summer.... still nothing in the works (that we know of). Update: I've found Haenel. Last seen two weeks ago in Amsterdam performing 'The Pond' on stage, a sort of performance art piece based on a 20 page play and directed by a puppeteer... She plays "all the children in the piece" including a suicidal young boy.

Her first new production since Portrait of a Lady On Fire (2019) for the best young actress in the world (oh you heard me Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley and Jodie Comer - pfft ! ) - she's turns 33 on Feb 11.....um......check out that plot description: Virginie Efira, Fabrice Luchini, Lily-Rose Depp, and Adèle Haenel are leading Dumont’s next feature titled L’Empire aka The Empire, Les Inrockuptibles reports (hat tip to Richard Brody). Set along France’s Opal Coast (the home of Dunkirk), the film follows a village that is visited by extraterrestrial knights. After Coincoin and the Extra-Humans, we’re looking forward to seeing his return to sci-fi and one can see a (poorly) Google-translated, expanded synopsis below via Allocine:
"Under the exterior of the common life of the inhabitants of a fishing village on the Opal Coast, the parallel and epic life of knights of interplanetary empires emerges. Prey to the bloody fights of these clans at the announcement of the birth of the Margat, resurgent Prince, mauve and filthy, Beast of the End of Times, located here on the Coast and child of a young couple, as usual of their condition in a residential area."

She remains MIA! and Bruno Dumont immediately gets our forgiveness by casting Camille Cottin.

Wow, she really hasn't done anything since 2019. That's a shame. Was she last seen walking out of the Cesars?

Polanski has been generally more supported and treasured by the French film establishment. So I don't know how they truly received what she did, but it is interesting.

Bit of a cold case since his last movie was in 2013..... but where has Nicky Katt been?? Directors clearly like him.... multiple movies with Linklater, Soderbergh, Nolan, David Gordon Green, Tarantino sort of. He was a reliable character actor with a distinct offhand style that he'd figurate wherever you placed him.... usually criminals or cops. It's too bad bc he was solid and subtle... I've noted him opposite Pacino in Insomnia for example. Oddly enough Soderbergh on a podcast last week mentioned getting a gift from him, so he's around, just retired I guess?

Never saw it...I've always been behind on tv, I haven't seen any of those aughts E Kelley shows (tho I like those underrated fun movies he wrote Mystery Alaska... From the Hip...)!

I watched her recently in Savage River and she was really good in it,but you're right,I don't know she isn't a bigger star and isn't getting cast in higher profile roles.
