Mysteries of Lisbon is all-time level great imo, would recommend Have you seen Time Regained? I loved it even as someone who hasn't at really delved into Proust, and I know some people who are more familiar with the source material (not sure if you are or not, just remember you're big into literature) even prefer it to Lisbon, which I agree is fantastic. Only read the first volume of Proust but yeah, it's very high up on my list of movies to see. I almost rented it this afternoon actually. Mysteries of Lisbon's swooning dive into memory, and its extraordinary use of long takes, made me feel like Ruiz is the perfect director to take on Proust.

honestly the more I see the more I love 2018. January has practically built up my Top 10 from scratch. It just takes two or three masterpieces to come along and change everything, and I've seen like 5 this month.
