So, we’re not taking most of this night seriously, right? We don’t honestly believe BR is winning BP? no, but we were expecting the race to become a little clearer. Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody winning just means the whole thing is still very much in the air and raises so many question, like how big a hit the frontrunners took tonight if at all. I agree. Those wins just curb the backlash for the other movies.

After the round of applause Glenn Close got I don't see how anyone can still believe she's not winning. I loved Colman in The Favourite and if she wins she would be the best winner in the category since like Marion Cotillard, but she's not winning.

This is the ideal scenario for Roma. Bohemian Rhapsody and Green Book will face tremendous backlash in the coming weeks. Nobody seems to love A Star is Born, not even the friggin Globes. Black Panther may win PGA but it's not winning at the Oscars. Sticking with Roma here. May the Lord hear you.

That was an unpredictable show. I still think neither Green Book nor Bohemian Rhapsody will win the Oscar, though. Best Actress is now officially between Close and Colman and Best Actor is between Malek and Bale. Malek is gaining a lot of steam lately, I feel his chances of winning are very strong. Plus, Bale alredy has an Oscar...
Poor Bradley Cooper. He's very likely to lose in all three categories he's going to be nominated for.

She hasn't won yet, man. Settle down. The critical favo(u)rite of the year won tonight as well, and is likely winning BAFTA. Close did well to knock Gaga down a peg, and SAG is very much in play, but there's still a lot of race to be run. yeah, Close just made it a helluva lot easier for Colman. That's all that happened tonight. It should also be pointed out that they really didn't go for A Star Is Born aside from its "gimme" win in Song. I don't know if that tepid feeling will carry over to SAG or Oscar. In fact, the fact that it didn't win big here is probably a good thing for it, as it insulates it against the backlash that will surely hit Bohemian Rhapsody and Green Book. SAG will tell the tale, and indeed Close's speech tonight is the sort of thing she needed to do to wake people up to her longevity in the business . . . but Colman's wasn't exactly chopped liver, and unlike the other candidates in her category, she's just now starting to hit the campaign circuit, as The Crown is wrapping up.

If ASIB is not winning Best Ensemble, I hope it loses to Black Panther or BlacKKKlansman.

Close played the right cards tonight, just for the themes she brought up even if her film is unseen by genreal audience it sure add a lot of points to her chances, that f_cking standing ovation !! there's a race !

Right before the last three wins I just knew this was gonna happen, I literally said to my girlfriend that Close, Malek and Rhapsody are taking the rest Pundits sure were right about HFPA adoring BR. And that's not surprising considering the massive love for the film around the world. Critics may be negative about it but people clearly don't give a shit - they love Queen and this movie. And there sure are a lot of people like that in the Academy too. I'm not saying it'll win BP but I think Malek will be a genuine threat for Best Actor. Come to think of it, the role has all the perfect ingredients for an Oscar. Anyway, respect to the Globes for giving "First Man" the Score win. Other than that...um...yeah...Colman's speech was lovely. Oh, and I think Glenn Close definitely ensured her Oscar win with that speech by hitting all the right notes in front of all these voters - the undervalued women issue, the 45 years in the business thing, everything.

Agreed. It was a very passionate and emotional speech that seemed to resonate with her peers. She got 2 standing ovations.

Well, Sharbs I'm pretty sure you noticed that one group in particular in FL majorly slipping in regards to BR. Let's see how long it takes for someone to correct that one.

Craziest Globes ever. Each final category topped itself in unpredictability and WTF?-ness. Wasn't this whole night supposed to favor A Star is Born? It lost everything but Song!! This is pretty amazing. And Bohemian Rhapsody?! I feel like the Globes have completely transformed the race this year.
