Would be interesting after the huge success of Dune II to see if he could really open a non IP star vehicle for himself. That's the million dollar question.I wonder if his team around him will want to risk putting him in a vehicle which requires his starpower to carry it, not IP or a stacked ensemble cast. I mean, he's got the Bob Dylan biopic coming up, but that almost counts as IP since Dylan is so famous. That's just how most "star" careers are built and handled these days. Everyone is afraid of looking like a flop, so they make sure the films they star in have an extra layer of protection, like IP or streaming on Netflix. I don't think his team will want anyone questioning his starpower by having him carry some original, non IP vehicle anytime soon And right on clockwork .....industry trades trying to sell Chalamet as a bonafide box office megastar because he was the lead in two heavily established popular IP franchises (while weirdly taking a swipe at Tom Holland, who is also only a draw in established IP's).

Damson Idris picks up the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor In A Drama Series for the final season of Snowfall.
Well deserved, and as previously mentioned, one of the 90's babies who could easily shoot to the very top of the rankings depending on movie projects/opportunities.

RIP to Chance Perdomo, another young actor who was a 90's baby. Died at age 27 in a motorcycle accident. Didn't get the opportunity to see him in much, but I did have the pleasure of watching him act throughout the first season of The Boys spin-off Gen V, and he was a fantastic actor based on that performance. And exactly the kind of actor I was talking about who could make a sudden rise to the top of this generation, if the opportunities presented themselves.

I liked him on the Sabrina show. What a shame.

I feel like Jharrel Jerome should have had some bigger opportunities by now. Made his film debut with Moonlight, winning acclaim as young Kevin. Then won the Best Actor In A Limited Series Emmy for When They See Us in 2019 when he was like only 21 years old. I thought he'd be fastracked to movie stardom, but hasn't happened yet. Still time and he's still working, but I thought he'd be further along since the Emmy win.

The oppurtunties Butler is getting now are starting to get silly though. And they didn't even count Masters Of The Air, which is likely Emmy bound.

Kelvin Harrison Jr getting rave reviews and potential Emmy talk for his performance as Martin Luther King Jr in MLK/X.
Need to see it for myself, but I guess this kind of talk still keeps him in the hunt for big breakout movie.

I doubt he even gets nominated tbh. Gold Derby have also just done articles like that for Owen Wilson in Loki, and Malkovich in whatever the fuck he's been in recently. It doesn't mean anything. There's at least 8 guys ahead of him right now.
