Well, they gave us what is arguably the best Oscar-winning speech by an actress ever (AND for a genuinely brilliant performance). A classic Oscar moment. And then a foreign movie won Directing for the first time in 91 years... another historic event.
That's more than what they give us most years, so I'm not complaining.

Also, I don’t want to dishonor Freddie Mercury... but fuck Freddie Mercury. You're going to hell.

What a shitshow! Green Book wins Best Picture and BH had the most wins of the night. And Green Book with the screenplay win. I mean, it's literally the worst that could have possibly happened.

The show was fine but these were maybe the worst awards I've seen since I started watching the Oscars. Green Book and Queen. Fuck it all.
Thank god Colman and Spike won.
The Oscars seem genuinely afraid of progress.
Trash, just fucking trash.
But at least we got The Irishman.

One of my biggest disappointments of the night was not seeing a Spike Lee reaction shot to Green Book's BP win.

I think this is the first time since 2014 that all the BP nominees went home with something.

It would be actual progress to give it to a foreign film for the first time ever. It would have been progress to give it to a movie about gay cowboys at a time when that was still controversial. But the Oscars don't like real progress. They'd rather just pick the movie by white guys that says "racism is bad".

Zeb couldn't have nailed it more on the head Green Book was comprised of three scenes on repeat, stupid ass winner. Also BfuckingH won the most and the don't get me started on the tech it won editing, bs and THE SOUNDS'!!!! If I hit play on Queen on Apple Music in my car I used same merits the sound peeps did for this movie. And that Rami Malek Oscar clip is so so so sad hahahaha. Genuinely shocked to see Colman (it's not hard people). Lovely speech and goddamn they loved her. Still not convinced of The Irishman's existence. There was no gd footage.

I think this is the first time since 2014 that all the BP nominees went home with something. Interesting . . . this year is like the inverse of 2014 where there were two bad winners and the others were pretty great.

I haven't been able to sit through BR yet, and I'll probably keep it that way.
Feel awful for Close, but really happy for Colman at the same time. Loved her speech. Best moment of the night.
Green Book winning Best Picture.... Meh, I guess it could have been worse. At least they weren't dull and predictable in their choices.

- Haven't seen Green Book yet but lmaoooooooooo at Roma losing.
- Was rooting for Glenn Close and was sad when she lost... but Colman was almost as great and her all-timer speech quickly made up for it.
- Malek.... knew it was coming, but fuck.
- Glad we didn't have to see Cuarón mention those two nothing performances for the 40th time.
- Happy for Spike... but after watching it earlier today, Can You Ever Forgive Me? was definitely robbed for adapted screenplay.

I told you bitches... ROMA was not winning. Yeah, but you also said Black Panther was, so we'll call it even.

Let's admit it: Green Book's Best Picture win wasn't the worst win of the morning (*cough*BH for Editing*cough*).

Still not convinced of The Irishman's existence. There was no gd footage. It's gonna get released on April 1st and it will just be two hours of Rick Astley on a loop

I went back to watch the Bao team’s speech. Domee Shi is just darling.
Also, it’s weird seeing John Ottman win an Oscar for editing, when I tend to remember him more as a composer.

I cannot even with Colman winning Best Actress. I was shocked, stunned, happy, sad...
Poor Glenn Close lmao.
Oh well, Olivia is a deserving winner. Happy Oscars!

Let's face it throughout the year we all guess and predict different things based on trends and it's all just a big prognosticational mess. Next year’s Best Picture Winner will ONLY be nominated for Best Picture.

This won Best Editing! What the fuck? I genuinely believe a high school student using final cut for the first time could’ve done better editing than what we got in this scene.
