I'm probably overreacting here since Roma won Director, Cinematography, was runner-up in Film, and will probably win Best Foreign Language Film, but does anyone think this is a sign of Roma fatigue?
I really thought it would win easily here. Maybe they just wanted to spread the wealth to something that hasn't got much attention so far knowing that Roma missing wouldn't be a big deal for it. If there is Roma fatigue though, then I'm a bit more confident that a third candidate can win over both it and ASIB.
ETA: I see Roma did in fact win Foreign Language Film as most predicted, so maybe Oscar voters will be like the NSFC voters and think that Roma winning Director, Cinematography, and Foreign Language Film are enough and give Best Picture to another film.

It not winning Film is so weird even considering that tjey may have wanted to place more attention to another overlooked film. Spotlight won here so you'd expect to comply with the safe choice These are the NSFC though They're known for their oddball choices.

I really think you are over thinking this. These are the people who picked Goodbye to Language over Boyhood. Winning all three major critics awards is very rare. It also didn’t lose to anything in Oscar contention so it didn’t lose any ground to anything else. That being said I don’t think it’s winning anyways. But this loss means nothing.

I sure would've included the runners-up in the OP had I not been busy with Ukraine

OOOOOOOO! If this can make it to the Oscars, I'd be soooo happy. Last winner that missed an Oscar nod was Mother (1996). Wouldn't be surprised if it manages to get in even with its distributor.

The Rider................
The recent Best Film winners for Gotham and NSFC were huge Oscar contenders. Why not this?? A tender portrait (a docudrama, really) of middle America. With a crew of about four or five people, Chloe Zhao (Chinese female filmmaker - but sure let's give Crazy Rich Asians a Best Pic nom) candidly revises macho myths of the cowboy and Americana. It's ultimately deeply felt. Also kinda like a miniscule rodeo take on The Wrestler.

OOOOOOOO! If this can make it to the Oscars, I'd be soooo happy. We should advertise with T shirts that have Steve Buscemi's face and the caption "MAKE RUSSIA GREAT AGAIN" underneath. That will stir the pot.

Wow, the difference in points between Cuaron and their second choice is huge... Same for Ethan Hawke (no First Reformed for Screenplay, though??). And I'm starting to think we might be underestimating Willem Dafoe's chances. He's hitting all the major precursors, apart from SAG.
