I stopped taking it seriously once I found out that it's just an egg for a giant alien.... abortion... metaphor. That sentence got away from me, but then, so did that whole episode of Doctor Who. I think it's a pretty great piece of work. Sam Rockwell is spectacular, and the script focuses on the emotional side of isolation in a fascinating way.

It's very good, but not the groundbreaking masterpiece a lot of people seemed to think it was in 2009. Same goes for Rockwell.

Honestly one of my favorite movies of all time. Admittedly, there’s a sentimental aspect to me because it’s the first movie I ever saw at a film festival (SIFF) and Duncan Jones appeared after the film to answer questions. But even on multiple rewatches, it still holds up for me. Rockwell is my Best Actor win that year and it’s not even close, the visuals look better than a lot of big budget movies these days, Clint Mansell’s score is gorgeous, and the film is such an emotional gut-punch.

Should have been Sam Rockwell’s first Oscar win.

Probably my fav film of 2009 (just beating out The Hurt Locker & Avatar) . Just a really really good film all around! And Rockwell should at least been nominated for it imo . He was utterly fantastic . And Duncan Jones did such a good job on a minimal budget.
Speaking of Mr Jones , I really want to believe Duncan Jones has another good to great film in him like Moon (Source Code was such kinda average imo, Mute was god awful and well Warcraft was a misfire that he wasted like 4 to 5 years on making) .

Loved Rockwell, but thought the film was just solid.

The score by Clint Mansell is another beautiful piece of this genuine work of art. Also, the cinematography is consistently breathtaking and wonderfully assists the direction.
