Mahershala Ali Timothée Chalamet Adam Driver Sam Elliott Richard E. Grant Michael B. Jordan Sam Rockwell
I'd like to mention Hugh Grant since he did get a BAFTA nomination last year, but that seems really unlikely to develop into anything here. So is it safe to say that these seven actors are competing for these five spots? Or is there a dark horse who could squeeze in since it's not a super crowded category this year?

I still think BAFTA could go for Nicholas Hoult or Alessandro Nivola, but yeah, those are the main seven.

I think it's basically down to 6 after seeing Vice, and after the reviews of it finally came out. If BAFTA really goes for it and Rockwell gets in there too, I'll change my stance.

Yeah and I’d argue it’s 2014 all over again, albeit far weaker, where it’s the same 5 at every award show, though this may be the weakest supporting actor category in years.
