They really did not like A Star Is Born. I don't think that hurts its chances any for Oscar nominations of course, but I did read that the Best Actress winner has been nominated here since 2009. Of course, stats fall all the time especially lately, but this could help Colman and Close.
Also Best Supporting Actress continues to be a clusterfuck. They clearly saw Vice, but left off Adams. (Of course, Stone missed too, but I don't really think she had any chance to win another Oscar this year.)

Wow, these are probably the best nominations so far.
And they reaaaaally put A Star Is Born in a bad spot for BAFTA. Of course it'll get important nods, but wins? I'm really not sure. Rupert Everett might be the surprise Best Actor nominee at BAFTA.

Kulig and Cold War are extremely popular at the moment in Europe.

If you wanna compare London critics with anything then it's Bafta and their overlap is terrible. Although I highly doubt Bafta will go big for A Star is Born.

I mean it's not like she's British, she's a Kiwi. EDIT: I guess Leave No Trace did do pretty well though.

Dig the Yalitza and Kaluuya nominations. Hopefully the BAFTA takes note.

These don’t really match up with the BAFTA’s in general but I think people are being too quick to assume that The Favourite will beat Roma at the BAFTA easily. Cuaron has done a lot of work in the UK and has probably built up a large fan base there.

Those are a mostly great set of winners.

Aren't they just?
I am loving that nod for Jessie Buckley too. She was immense in Beast, and in Taboo.
She deserves to win the Bafta Rising Star this year.
