They announce Sunday so it's about time we do this.
Best Picture- Roma (RU: The Favourite) Best Director- Cauron (RU: Lanthimos) Screenplay- The Favourite (RU: First Reformed) Actor- Phoenix (RU: Hawke) Actress- Aparicio (RU: Coleman) Supporting Actor- Grant (RU: Chalamet) Supporting Actress- King (RU: Yeoh) Cinematography- Roma (RU: The Ballad of Buster Scruggs) Editing- Widows (RU: Roma) Production Design- The Favourite (RU: Black Panther)
Some thoughts:
These predictions are probably to Oscary
My thoughts were originally that The Favourite or First Reformed would win NY and Roma would win here because Cauron has had a lot of success with LA in the past but I guess I'll predict it to win both now which is rare but not that rare. (Three times in the last 10 years)
Going with Aparicio for Actress since only one English speaking actress not names Sally Hawkins has won this award since 2006. (correction: Lawrence and Blanchett won but they were ties)
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs placing in Cinematography is probably more hope than realism.

I think with Hawke missing GG nom they might back him up with a win. But yeah I definitely see it between Phoenix and Hawke.
