Send me a ranked list of your top 25 sci-fi films by private message before Friday, January 18th.
For any doubts about eligibility, please post here. UPDATE: We have decided to leave freedom of vote. Feel free to use this thread for FYCs. Happy voting!

Eligibility debates are gonna be super important here, and it's one of the main reasons that held me back from wanting to do this poll myself. The Star Wars Saga is gonna be one of the biggest ones here. I think it's pretty clearly fantasy and I know I'm not alone in that line of thought, but there are also so many who stick by its sci-fi classification. I'll wait until we have a separate thread to defend my stance on that one. But I just wanna say: just because it's set in space, doesn't make it science fiction! Speaking of which, the obviously-not-sci-fi Gravity is another one that we gotta take care of.

Nice. These are fun. Is anyone planning on doing one for horror? If not, I’d be willing to run it.

Discuss eligibility here. This is a tricky one so it's better to iron out all differences in advance.

FYC: On a related note, if you've not read the novel, you definitely should. I actually look at the Glazer film as a spiritual sequel to the novel, which takes an entirely different (but still no less chilling) tack to it. The entire audiobook can be found here. Takes about nine hours to listen to, but it's well worth it:

Regardless, I'll definitely try to seek out a copy of the novel.

No consensus has been reached about eligibility rules so the final suggestion is to give freedom of vote to users.
The poll is now open again.

I'm gonna wait until close to the deadline to vote. But don't worry, I'll absolutely be submitting.
Hopefully some more FYCs start pouring in ... I feel like there's gotta be some under-seen gems that I need to catch up on.

I guess a FYC: Upstream Color will be barely out of my ballot, but I wouldn't be upset if it made an appearance

I want go with the majority. I don't want to tamper it's chances if more people are considering it as sci-fi.

We're not including short films, are we? I'm wondering if La Jetée is eligible.
