Or this year's Amy Ryan? So in other words, Tilda Swinton is winning?

While I do think she's winning, it's still far too early to make that call. Even if Regina King and Richard E. Grant sweep the critics prizes, that doesn't make them sure things ... these are awards that Laurie Metcalf and Willem Dafoe cleaned up at last year, and we saw how that turned out.
Again, I do think she's winning though, but I'm not sure she'll be as dominant as Janney was. At least, I hope this year's acting races don't become as boring and one-sided as last year's did...

Well last year Janney was the thirstiest campaigner on the trail with a very flashy performance, while Rockwell was kind of a co-lead in one of the Best Picture frontrunners. I don't see that repeating this year, unless Amy Adams decides that she WANTS to win one (I still think she'd rather win a Lead one).

Regina King winning would be boring. Why exactly? She been acting since 12 or so. I think it's good when vets get recognition.

I've never thought much of her as a great actress and it's baffling to me her Emmy wins and also considering her role is apparently small. If she sweeps then I'd be very disappointed.

My objection is mostly in the scenario that she sweeps.

King is like Janney in that both are the standouts of their films. Whereas Lady Bird was really a star vehicle for Ronan. Same with Bale and Vice.
The passion for Adams may have waned. She was snubbed for Arrival. And I can't see them awarding 2 over dues - to Close and Adams.

I predict Amy Adams to be this year's Allison Janney and Regina King to be this year's Laurie Metcalf.

Let's see, but Don't forget Weisz! There's going to be a bloodbath in acting race this/next year! She's won before. My gut tells me this is Amy Adams' year and she will get a standing ovation.

She's won before. My gut tells me this is Amy Adams' year and she will get a standing ovation.Naaaaah, King stole her thunder and She deserves it more... Moreover she hasn't nominated before and Oscar loves to reward a veteran actress like her, and also academy would reward Amy in a more Glorious Leading actress Performance in a big epic movie than a Small performance in a controversial movie but who knows , but honestly I love to see her win Oscar for a real good performance, being the best performance of the year rather than a pity consolation win! My gut? Translation - you are a super fan of Amy Adams and want to see her win.
These days, it is much tougher to win - just because someone has a bunch of nods. And she was snubbed for Arrival. The problem with Adams - almost all of her nods were filler spots. And this role in Vice seems more of the same.
If she's going to win, let it be when she's undeniable where she steam rolls the precursors.
