Since it’s that time of the year again, so what time better than now to bring it up? Personally it’s one of the few movies that I watch at least once a year, especially around Thanksgiving . But what’s important now is…what’s your opinion on it? Thanks in advance for any comments or opinions in advance!!!! !

Not only a holiday classic, but a good movie in general. Martin and Candy work off each other extremely well not just in terms of comedy, but they're both strong dramatically as well. So many great scenes and quotes...and even a few well-placed tear-jerking moments as well. Good stuff!

I don't really like anything John Hughes has directed but this one is OK. I'd go with a 6/10.

My favorite Thanksgiving film (are there really any others, though). Hilarious, but also quite nice and even "touching". Martin and Candy make for a great duo, and everytime I see the film, I'm always reminded of how much I miss Candy. God was he a treasure. Also one of my dad's favorite films, it's actually through him that I even discovered it in the first place.

I love it. It's a bit hokey and overly-sentimental in parts, but damn if it doesn't make me tear up every time I watch it. Candy is great in it but Steve Martin totally makes the movie for me. He is absolutely phenomenal. I tend to love comedies where the main character gets figuratively shat on over and over and over again (my favorite Coen brothers movie is A Serious Man, my favorite cartoons as a kid were Donald Duck shorts, etc.) and this one fits the bill perfectly. The scene where Martin just unloads on John Candy in the motel room is both painfully sad and painfully hilarious.

Still a fun movie, with my favorite performances of both Steve Martin and John Candy. Also, my second favorite John Hughes film. Sorry, nothing will beat Ferris Bueller's Day Off for me. I can easily say to me this is the best road movie there is.

Rewatchable classic. Candy and Martin are fantastic together with the former giving such a heartbreaking performance. It's so, so good.

One of my all-time favorites. The chemistry between John Candy and Steve Martin is the best, just so natural. Every time Thanksgiving rolls around, most of my family wants to watch this movie. It’s like an annual tradition. Definitely the best John Hughes movie.

Watched this again yesterday. It's absolutely brilliant. The chemistry between John Candy and𝕊𝕥𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕊𝕥𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕊𝕥𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕊𝕥𝕖𝕧𝕖 Martin is so good. Laughed so hard at the scene Pacinoyes posted above.

I actually hated this as a kid, for some reason. Then I got to like it. And now after several more rewatches..... I love it. Like the arc of their friendship, you feel more invested and won over the more time you spend with it -- at least for me it worked that way.
And how about that new 4k release, few months ago, with 75min of never before seen deleted scenes? Excuse me>?! Here's a clip that cracked me the f up.... let me tee it up......
