DeepArcher -- 3640 points ( +30)7. mhynson27 -- 2950 points ( +15)8. Pittsnogle_Goggins -- 2475 points Reminiscent of the days of the critics circles, coop's indie-heavy team is the dominant team, but his impressive amount of points are still not quite enough to get him back into the top three. And so, this is how we stand heading into the Oscars ... quetee's victory seems pretty secure (as it has been), but the question now is whether or not she'll cross 6000 ... michael extended his second-place lead over bruinjoe, but it's still close between them. Each of them have a handful of near-guaranteed wins tonight, but bruinjoe could still close the gap if Black Panther and Vice over-perform and Roma perhaps underwhelms. coop is still in striking distance of a pedestal position, but he'll need a miracle to pull it off. Good to luck to everyone tonight... it's been a fun season

So many misfires with my team. Yeeeah ... who woulda though that Cooper, First Man, Adams, Kidman all underperform. Definitely got dealt a bad hand there. For what it's worth, the Cold War pickup was one of the best of the season

91st ACADEMY AWARDSbruinjoe96 Emily Blunt ~ Viola Davis ~ Constance Wu Viggo Mortensen ~ Rami Malek ( +40) ~ Michael B. Jordan Black Panther ( +120) ~ Vice ( +40) ~ Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse ( +40) ~ Hereditarycoop032 Olivia Colman ( +40) ~ Toni Collette ~ Elsie Fisher Timothee Chalamet ~ Ethan Hawke ~ Clint Eastwood If Beale Street Could Talk ( +40) ~ Can You Ever Forgive Me? ~ Mary Poppins Returns ~ Mary Queen of Scots DeepArcher Emma Stone ~ Yalitza Aparicio ~ Margot Robbie Richard E. Pittsnogle_Goggins2515 points ( +40) Narrowly crossing the 2500-mark thanks to a surprise (but very deserved!) First Man VFX victory, our dear friend Pittsnogle_Goggins had a rough go of it this season. A lot of surprise busts on his team from presumed lead actor frontrunner Bradley Cooper, the underwhelming (in terms of awards) First Man, virtually no love for either Nicole Kidman or Amy Adams, and even a surprising snub for John David Washington by the Academy ... Goggins really just got dealt a lot of shit luck, but the smart move of substituting The Mule for Cold War showed that he wouldn't throw in the towel easily! It was a rough awards season for Goggins, but a valiant effort nonetheless! 7. mhynson272990 points ( +40) Dealing with similar problems of having just an inordinate amount of busts, mhynson's team looked stellar right off the bat led by presumed Best Picture heavy-hitters BlacKkKlansman and Widows ... only for the latter to be ignored almost entirely and the former to never get far off the launching pad and be consistently ignored in favor of safer, more backwards-looking awards fare. The lack of critics circle love for Close and a near shutout all season for Gosling certainly didn't help either. Late-game additions of Burning and Shoplifters gave him a nice boost through the last round of critics prizes, but unfortunately this just wasn't mhynson's year.
6. DeepArcher (Team Captain) 3760 points (+120) Lol. So drafting Green Book at fourth may or may not have been a dumb decision (I genuinely don't know) when I could've gotten something more tech-heavy like Black Panther or an ultimately valuable critic favorite like Beale Street ... the second round was a bit too soon for Won't You Be My Neighbor? ... I'm not sure why I had quite that much faith in Emma Stone back in November ... the list could go on. I made a lot of boneheaded decisions, and for someone whose team was led by the eventual Best Picture winner, this finish is rather pathetic. Green Book couldn't even make a difference in my fantasy standings, making its Oscar triumph officially 100% useless! Thanks a lot, Academy.
5. joephoenix 4235 points (+40) In the sh-sh-shaaaa-shaaaloooow. joephoenix smartly drafted A Star is Born with the first pick in the round for Films, and in another case of poor luck, it didn't quite pan out for him the way that any reasonable person was expecting three months ago. Though he crafted a well-rounded team with a number of acting contenders (though no eventual winners...), joephoenix put in a commendable effort all season that could've benefited from just a little bit more love for B-Coops' passion project and a higher demand for Lady Gaga awards speeches. It couldn't quite get him into the top half of the rankings, but joephoenix managed one hell of a team that left me in the dust after I nearly challenged him for this spot ... lol. Well done!
4. coop032 5330 points (+80) The group leader for what seemed like the longest time, coop's indie-powered team absolutely dominated the critics circuit. Backed by perhaps the most well-rounded quartet of films, an absolutely immaculate trio of actresses, and the year's most beloved male performance by critics and cinephiles everywhere, coop crafted an impeccably-stacked team that faltered only because the top awards leaned far too populist this year. Justice for Barry Jenkins, justice for Marielle Heller, justice for Toni Collette, justice for Ethan Hawke, and justice for coop's fantasy team! #DownWithTheOscars #ImpeachJohnBailey uhhhh anyway, I just wanna congratulate coop on his truly, truly great team! Can't believe ya missed out on that top three ... you got robbed, dude.
And now, our coveted pedestal. The top three:
3. michael128 5585 points (+160) Our bronze medalist michael went from nearly being kicked off the team hours before the draft to claiming third place. Led by the absolutely dominant Roma, the critical darling Eighth Grade, and the supporting actress queen Regina King, it seemed that there was practically no awards ceremony with which michael didn't score highly. While his team certainly had some weak spots on it ... lugging around Lucas Hedges all season, and a Love, Simon pickup that proved to be a dud ... michael's group nonetheless proved strong enough to be one of the team's very best. Perhaps with some additionally tweaking, who knows where he could've ended up. Job well done, michael!
2. bruinjoe96 5595 points (+240) In a surprise turn of events, bruinjoe emerges as our second-place finisher! I said that you needed Black Panther to over-perform and, well, that's exactly what happened. A surprising three technical wins for the Marvel darling, and a Roma BP snub, allowed bruinjoe to claim second place and squeak by michael by a narrow margin of just 10 points. How 'bout that for a photo finish. In his first year of fantasy, bruinjoe assembled an incredible team with an extremely impressive quartet of films (huge props for the ingenious addition of Spider-Verse), and an eventual Best Actor winner who was still an underdog back in November. Congrats on an excellent debut season, dude!! The enthusiasm you brought all season was truly wonderful. Enjoy the silver medal This one's for Stan Lee
Aaaand the Chayefsky's Champs winner, is....
1. quetee!!! 6135 points (+240) Well, she crossed 6000, folks! Interesting that on a team full of dudes, the winner was the only female ... huh, it's almost like women are better than men or something! (Seriously.) Not that quetee's victory was in any doubt heading into Oscar night, or really during the entire month of February, she absolutely took off at some point in the season and never so much as looked back. Led by the absolutely dominant The Favourite certainly helped, but there's no doubt that her best decisions included boldly picking the eventual critical favorite First Reformed in the second round, and making the rather baffling decision of drafting Bohemian Rhapsody totally out of the blue in the third. What seemed like an odd decision three months ago wound up being the winningest film at this year's Academy Awards ... truly, who woulda thought. Despite some struggles with her actors (though having that Ali sweep only did her favors!), quetee nonetheless rose above it to become this year's undeniable winner. Once again, my utmost Congratulations to our well-deserved gold medalist, Quetee!!!
Well, that's all. Thank you to this whole team for participating and for sticking with this through this whole clusterfuck of an awards season. Special thanks to surprise co-captain bruinjoe for his instrumental help in taking over for me during a brief absence ... you did a great job!! I hope you all enjoyed yourselves; this was exhausting work for me, but I no I had fun nonetheless. It has a pleasure having you all on this team and I hope to see you guys participating next year too!!

Yeah, I still can't believe Bruinjoe ended up in second place. That is a total shocker. Wow. This was beyond fun, and the funny thing is that BR was really out of the blue pick, I just thought oh, I'll score some points for Rami and a Globe award for musical. I was so wrong about that one. First Reformed was a surprising pick too and BR picked up its slack when the big boys decided to ignore it.
Thanks Deep for being a good team captain and keeping us up to date. Also, thanks to Bruin for help out in your absence.
