Not too surprising, the video release was fairly suspect, especially since whoever had the video held on to it for months and waited until the film was about to be released before leaking it.

Not surprising. The person who released the video just wanted to hurt the film's box office for some reason, first and foremost, otherwise it would have been released sooner.

Aw, there goes my only incentive to see it. Kidding, of course. Don't ban me.

I kinda figured, not that it will make me go see the film anyway. And tbh I didn't even care that much about this, people overreacted to the max, as they usually do when someone so much as accidentally bumps into a dog. Yet people do far worse things to animals everyday and nobody bats an eyelid. So the dog was forced into some water? Big whoop, how many people have forced their dogs to take a bath? ... aw who the fuck am I kidding? Of course I was outraged. But still, we all need to chill, I can admit that.

Everyone's now reporting that the video is a distortion of the truth and that there was no abuse while filming. The fact the video was extremely edited (and clearly for no reason other than maximum impact) made that almost certain, that it was a distortion. I disagree with the release date aspect, if cruelty occurred it would not be a bad strategy to try to hurt the movie pocket for it, and maybe the leaker did consider it abuse (many that saw the video did), but the short video didn't show an animal getting injured (or much more abuse that you do when you cut your dog claw when they are afraid of it, it is the just for a movie aspect that cloud our brain moral engine).
