I think he's like Bresson and he ended with his best (in Bresson's case he ended with his 2 best). The Sacrifice looks like Bergman and feels like Bergman - same lead actor Bergman regular - but you never feel it could actually be Bergman. Tarkovsky here isn't hiding behind any genre trappings or distancing in the narrative.
It's a profound, deep film, an old man's film in the best way and one that resonates more and more the older you get.

I like/love them all, but I always find myself going back to Solaris more than the others.
