I personally had him as my #10, so I cant complain about the placement at all.

Love Kurosawa. That spot is well deserved.

Sidenote: I'm watching The Disaster Artist for the first time in months while I present this, and James Franco was so fucking robbed of a nomination.

Really can't share the love for Anderson. Magnolia is a masterpiece and I like Hard Eight, The Master and Punch Drunk Love fair enough, but he probably wouldn't make my Top 50. I'm totally fine if he'd make the Top 30, but Top 10 is a huge surprise for me.

Spielberg mostly rules, and I'm happy my fellow Buzzers generally agree.

#9: Akira Kurosawa
#8: Steven Spielberg Good to see Kurosawa in the Top 10, though I'd even have hoped for him to get higher. Still have soo much of his filmography left to see, but so far nearly everything I saw of him was great. Would also have hoped Spielberg might go a little higher.

I had Spielberg at the very bottom of my top 25 just for historical importance alone and he's made at least a few films that I either loved as a child or have great respect for even if I'm not super passionate about everything he's done.

For his 70's output alone, Coppola completely deserves this. He directed two of the greatest films ever made in the same year.

At his best FFC was THE best. He wasn't my #1 but he was higher than 7th. Still glad he beat out the man-child at 8.....

Can't say anything about that Coens placement. The great filmmakers of their era, unique, versatile, specifically American.....very great

I skipped on Spielberg because he's just made a lot of awful films and Crystal Skull taught me at 13 that there are such things as bad movies

Coens higher than Spielberg? I'm surprised. I definitely prefer them (by a lot) to old Steve but I didn't realize that was the consensus on here.

While I don't love the Coen lads without question, especially some of their more recent output. I feel like they deserved to be in the Top 10, though I'd have pushed them down a few spots.

The Coens are a tad higher than where I would have put them, but I can't really complain because they're f'n awesome
