Saw it today... preeeeeetty good.
Keri Russell was great, Brandon Uranowitz stole a lot of scenes (even though his character was mostly gay comic relief), but daaaaaaaaamn... Adam Driver was electric! He bursts onto the stage like a tornado and never lets up. Goes from wryly funny to broad humor to heavy emotion totally seamlessly. Very great physical performance when it called for that too...
Wasn't familiar with the play beforehand at all... took a little while to get going (well... once Driver shows up) but I'd say Act One was a little better than Act Two but it was definitely strong overall. Didn't know it was gonna be so funny but its more emotional moments hit too. The main problem for me was that as good as Russell/Uranowitz are, it does kind of suffer when Driver isn't on stage. And I feel like he was damn near supporting in it too... I needed more of that character. But as Henry Winkler says in season 2 of Barry: always leave them wanting more...
