I think there's a couple of De Niro birthday threads maybe (?)....... but we used this one last year and if you were an obvious, no sh it Sherlock top 5 American film actor ever........well you could have 2 birthday threads too I guess.
August 17th - Happy 77th.......not merely a very great actor, but a filmography in a bunch of BP nominees, the most influential American actor since Brando too.
So, on his birthday I'd like to playfully send this out to all the "his new movie looked bad to me!" people and......the "I haven't liked him in 25 years!" people and to everybody who took big mouth Anjelica Huston's side and come to think of it actually to Anjelica Huston herself too
Sean Penn (60 today) winning the Robert DeerNiro award??
HBD to Bobby D. My #1 all time in Supporting for Mean Streets. Other than his famous physicality, how many Americans have won an Oscar for an entirely foreign language performance? He can't do comedy? Check out Hi Mom where he fights a mop or the concierge wooden-leg scene from NY NY or, y'know, the King of Comedy. He's fallen off last few decades? Go watch The Irishman, Wizard of Lies, Everybody's Fine. He also delivered maybe the most inspiring line of dialogue in cinema history - "We're all in it together kid."
All haters are disappointed dunskys or would rather be schmucks for a lifetime.
