Why the LOL for Dolan's directing and editing ? They are certainly strong points of the movie. I would say it has better editing than all the Oscar editing nominees I've seen except La La Land.
Not sure if you're serious. Anyway, it's the Césars so Stone wasn't competing there.

Odd that Dolan got Cannes, César and (nearly) Oscar love for something so badly reviewed.

Not sure if you're serious. Anyway, it's the Césars so Stone wasn't competing there. That was s a jab at the guy from Movie Awards who would post ridiculous stuff, full-blown rants even, "supporting" the notion that Huppert would win.

Happy for Oulaya Amamra, she really was awesome in that film. Also glad Sciamma keeps getting recognized, although the screenplay is not just written by her unless I'm mistaken. Frantz getting mentioned in cinematography is also nice.

Sad that something great like Things To Come was shutout while the Xavier Dolan pity party was at its finest. This guy is talented, but this movie was plain bad and he's annoying as fuck.

Dolan getting so much love for this and not Mommy is horrifying.

That foreign film winner tho.
And the fact that Dolan's film got so much loved and still couldn't win BP is something, and the even more baffling thing is that Elle wasn't loved like that is even more baffling.

Loach is one the great directos of British cinema history but I think lately he's just very overrated, since it's almost two decades he doesn't really do anything great.

Although Gaspard Ulliel is extraordinary in It's Only the End of the World I wonder if his award here was for "Sorry for not awarding you for Saint Laurent" (Although the Cesar may not care about things like this. Isabelle Huppert has won only twice) Curiously the winner that year was Pierre Niney for Yves Saint Laurent who was nominated this year for Frantz.

At least this way he gets to keep his hair a little while longer. What does that mean? Apparently he posted a picture on Instagram announcing that he'd cut hair very very short after It's Only the End of the World's negative reception at Cannes, saying he needed to "shave off the hate". He then proceeded to bemoan the current state of film criticism and film festivals, just a couple days before the very festival he said had (suddenly) become toxic awarded him with their 2nd highest honor, following his Jury Prize win two years before for Mommy and some out-of-competition love for his previous works as well.
