I'm working on finishing up both my 1950 and 2017 lineups and got to thinking about the actors I give the most nominations to. I've definitely noticed that I gravite towards certain performers and their work, and I was wondering what performers others repeatedly rewarded with personal nominations. Here are my most nominated performers.
*Disclaimer - I only have complete lineups for most of the 30's and 40's and then the last 15 years or so. As I complete more years, I'm sure I will have more 8 and 8+ nominees.
EIGHT NOMINATIONS:
Bette Davis - 2 wins 1932 - Supporting Actress - The Cabin in the Cotton 1934 - Actress - Of Human Bondage 1936 - Actress - The Petrified Forest 1938 - Actress - Jezebel 1939 - Actress - Dark Victory 1940 - Actress - The Letter 1942 - Actress - Now, Voyager 1950 - Actress - All About Eve
Cary Grant - 1 win 1937 - Actor - The Awful Truth 1938 - Actor - Bringing Up Baby 1940 - Actor - His Girl Friday 1940 - Supporting Actor - The Philadelphia Story 1941 - Actor - Penny Serenade 1941 - Actor - Suspicion 1944 - Actor - Arsenic and Old Lace 1946 - Actor - Notorious
*** Runner Up -
SEVEN NOMINATIONS:
Humphrey Bogart - 2 wins 1932 - Supporting Actor - Three on a Match 1936 - Supporting Actor - The Petrified Forest 1937 - Supporting Actor - Dead End 1941 - Actor - The Maltese Falcon 1942 - Actor - Casablanca 1946 - Actor - The Big Sleep 1950 - Actor - In a Lonely Place
The Rest of the Pack: Leonardo DiCaprio - 6 noms - 1 win (in acting) Claude Rains - 6 noms - 4 wins

Actors: I'm not quite sure on this, but Daniel Day-Lewis and Jack Lemmon are most definitely up there.
Actresses: Greta Garbo, with sixteen nominations for Best Actress. Katharine Hepburn (eleven) is the only other nominee with double-digit Best Actress nominations.

I'm a big fan of Day-Lewis as well, but he currenlty only has 3 for me though I know My Left Foot and Gangs of New York will make it at least five. I already know Lemmon will feature very prominently in my future line ups. I can definitely see him being listed for Glengarry Glen Ross, Missing, The China Syndrome, Save the Tiger, Days of Wine and Roses, The Apartment, Some Like it Hot, and Mister Roberts. As for Katharine Hepburn, she is my all time favorite, and I look foward to awarding her (probable) future nominations for her great work in The Lion In Winter, Long Days Journey Into Night, Summertime, On Golden Pond, The African Queen and maybe more.

Streep for the ladies
The guys; I think De Niro, Spall and Bale tie with seven, but I'm not 100 on that.
