At E.T's place. She gave the performance of a lifetime in WAOVW. Some people tend to forget what a fantastic actress she was because of her "messy" private life. My opinion of course .

I think people just forget Liz actually evolved as an actress.... she was very young when the studios claimed her and inserted her in every movie there was at the time. Yes.... she was a celebrity and because she was a celebrity, sometimes she was more fun to talk about than anything, but still....

Liz Taylor and Dame Rowlands are the GOATs, shame they're not in the top 10. But at least they're both in the top 25!

To me, Julia Roberts that's a movie star. But when people do call me one, that, I think, is an enormous compliment but, my God, is that a responsibility!”

For a second, I was terrified Madonna made the list. 😲

So far Holly Hunter at #14 is the big (not bad nor good...well, not that good) surprise to me. I mean people so rarely talk about her.

So far Holly Hunter at #14 is the big (not bad nor good...well, not that good) surprise to me. I mean people so rarely talk about her. Well look at the scoring. You can be on less than half the ballots but get 2 first place votes. That's 50pts.

#13: Faye Dunaway Points: 177 No. of Ballots: 13, #4 on 2 Ballots “I am furious that they think I'm too old to play the love interest of guys like Jack Nicholson and Clint Eastwood. Why should I play sisters and mothers while guys like Jack and Clint, who are older than me, have on-screen lovers half their age?”

Dunaway has those 4 or so great performances... but #13 all-time? Come on now.

So far Holly Hunter at #14 is the big (not bad nor good...well, not that good) surprise to me. I mean people so rarely talk about her. A lot of people talk about Hunter. If anything, it's Pfeiffer that's starting to be pushed to the back a little. (not that people don't talk about her, just less than before) Hunter is in lots of majorly popular films..... similar to Frances McDormand, except people probably put Hunter this much higher because they think she's had a greater number of roles and top performances. Nah, few people talk about her and when they do it's mostly for The Piano. And in what world she has been in A LOT of popular/great films ? Few (mostly) lesser Coens, Broadcast News, The Firm...that's pretty much all. Plus, unlike Frances Mc..., she has been almost irelevant as an actress for so long, I maintain, her ranking is surprising.

I'm surprised Vivien Leigh didn't make it into at least the top 10! Honestly, I don't really think she deserves to be anywhere near this. Her Oscar-winning performances are stupendous and she's great in Waterloo Bridge, but beyond that she really takes a nosedive in quality.

Comments so far: -I didn't know Tilda is in the middle of her cool-off period. I thought it was just 5 years ago when everyone was loving her... post Snowpiercer. #28 is pretty ridic imo, I hope Suspiria brings her back because if that's not the most turn-me-on worthy flashes she gave in the trailer. -Kate Winslet has really dropped. No way she wasn't top 5 ten years ago. -Maggie Smith and the old days of the Damehood has dropped a bit too, but Mirren at #31 isn't... that unexpected. -And.... If anyone was around in the 80s, Dunaway was so lambasted. She got like 400 razzies in that decade alone. Though admist all that rubbish, she still had Mommie Dearest and Barfly.... some days those are even my Best Actress wins... in fact I'm sure she is for Barfly. Great example of how people turned hot then cold on her with just one turn of the decade. -I guess Kidman is going to be right behind Streep in getting the most fanboy votes. No issue with me or anything, it's just funny to me how the one enduring thing(s) in Oscar Buzz history is the fanboys of Kidman, and Streep being #1 regardless of what she does.

Vivien Leigh is (deservely) here based on 2 performances, 2 monsters, all time great performances, not to say she doesn't had others very good (and underrated) ones but that's the 2 most people judge/rate her for. #11 is a good place for her. Others actresses with bigger, more interesting body of performances deserve to be ranked higher, imo.
