I noticed there hadn't been a discussion thread made on this yet, and I just finished season 6 last night. I thought it was a great season. Lot of drama and tension between the inmates that were once close friends, but now turned against each other by the Max inmates or the sadistic guards. With the exception of season 3, I'd say this show has remained consistently great, and I'm glad they've managed to keep the best characters around while also adding some great new ones (though I REALLY hated Badison from this season, as I'm sure was the intention of the writers). SPOILER THOUGHTS FOR THIS SEASON I was PISSED at the outcome of Taystee's trial. I had thought they might have her found guilty, with the possibility of a hopeful turnaround, but they really did her dirty. I hope those pissant guards get what's coming to them in the next season. Also upsetting was Blanca most likely getting deported with Diablo waiting for her and not knowing what's going on. All that and Piper managing to go home after getting prison-married may just be another way of saying that even in that setting, the white folks get off easy, going in hand with Piper originally trying to use her being white to her advantage with the guards. Sucks but not far off from the truth. And I don't know where I'd put Carol and Barb as far as the show's most despicable villains go, seeing as how Piscatella and his guards were terrible, as was Vee, but killing your kid sister while she begs for help is downright unforgivable. Current season rankings: 4 6 2 5 1 3 Also, just for fun, character rankings: Taystee Nicky Red Suzanne Poussey (she still counts) Lorna Frieda Cindy Piper Maria

Really? NONE of you watch this? Or did y’all that were watching it just trail off from a lack of interest?

Really? NONE of you watch this? Or did y’all that were watching it just trail off from a lack of interest?Yes. Most shows really don't need to go six seasons, and that's especially true for a show that has struggled to be interesting since its first two seasons.

Spoilers below, couldn't be assed to select different parts to spoiler tag, so reader beware for the whole series: 1 2 4 3 6 5 Hard to rank characters, but here's a greatest hits list: Pentasucky (season 1 version was fantastic. I like that she got to change, though). Crazy Eyes (mostly in first two seasons). Pornstache (season 1) Taystee (before she got overdramatic). Lolly (loved her! She's so neurotic and funny). Miss Claudette (I really loved her story and performance. I wish they showed her in max). Gloria (she grew on me, even in S6). The first two were fantastic. 3 seemed really boring, like the writers were on strike and just left a skeleton of a plot for replacement writers to fill in, then I saw season 5, which was so overdramatic (Taystee was annoying) and the riot plot didn't need to take that long with generally nothing happening (which made me appreciate S3 more), 6 really did not make max seem so bad and the plot in general was poor (I liked Carol and Barb, though - but Daddy was quickly forgotten and Badison was so annoying and childish). Season 4, I can't even recall what the plot was besides them cramming in all those new people into the prison but I recall liking it enough to give it a middle placement.
Anywho, this show really lost so much steam. To have two great seasons, then variably become average, mediocre, to bad is pretty sad.
There are too many plots that can happen next season: continuing in max, seeing the other max prison, the new immigrant prison, and whatever Piper is doing on the outside (she's a testament to how boring this show has become...the main character is now a minor character...which is good as she never really interested me).
I'm hoping that Taystee is later proven innocent, gets released, and some huge settlement, then becomes a warden or counselor of a prison. They should fast forward 5-10 years and just focus on the old characters (and show their lives after they are released, then wrap up this show for good). Oh, and the way they turned Piscatella into some generic Stieg Larsson Dragon Tattoo villain was so fucking random and unnecessary. Really ruined his character. And I sooooo miss how they would put a lot of flashback scenes. It's really boring how often they stay in present day lately.
