An unfinished movie, made by a (dead) genius over 30 years ago, that Hollywood F'd over back then anyway, which can't be explained in a few words summation AND with no discernible need to push it for awards for the Oscars which now are more cynical and corrupt than they have ever been?
I'm gonna say, not bloody likely.

Isn't there some rule that says any film that sits on the shelf longer than two years is ineligible? I seem to recall that being a thing (and that Blue Sky somehow squeaked past the cut-off date).

Must be relatively new, given Limelight's best score win. That was a re-release, though, with an entirely different score. Not sure how all that works, but the music branches especially are inconsistent as all hell.

Glanced over the rules I didn't notice anything specifically pertaining to that, then again I glanced, however given that the film was unfinished shouldn't it be eligible in the same way Boyhood was even though parts of it were years old?

I guess I'm just mistaken, then.

Not sure how all that works, but the music branches especially are inconsistent as all hell. It wasn't released at all in the US in the 50's, so it was technically a 1973 film by the Oscars standards. Haven't heard anything about it being a new score.

There's a tiny chance it gets a nod for cinematography or something in the vein of Limelight's score nomination. No chance for BP, director, or anything big.
