Royally snubbed for Ordinary People and just plain ol' snubbed for Without Limits.
And if reviews and users here are anything to go by, he was also snubbed hard for this year's Emmy's. But thank god for John Legend.

Just looking over his movies, I think of him mostly as a serious, scarily wise, kinda elegant actor now but I'm surprised, and yet not surprised, how many hilarious and joyous perfs he has...... MASH, Dirty Dozen, Kelly's Heroes, Start the Revolution Without Me, Little Murders, Six Degrees of Separation etc. Some of those are wildly different from each other too. Outside of that, special mention to Trust... I'd rank that perf near the top for him.... not many actors in their 80s get such a substantial role to chew and he sure did, a terrific and sneaky perf. Happy 86th Bday!

Still can't believe he's not nominated for a competitive Oscar.
