I'm thinking Streep and Pacino but that seems too easy - I must be drawing a blank - and I guess it depends how you look at it too, the ones below would seem like "great cast!" would seem like the first thing you'd say but some are pretty small too (Doubt)? PSH maybe (Talented Mr. Ripley, Doubt, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, etc.)
Doubt August Osage County Deer Hunter Angels in America The Hours Adaptation (maybe not here?) Marvin's Room
Glengarry Glen Ross Heat Angels in America Godfather I/II Dick Tracy The Irishman Once Upon A Time in Hollywood

Robert Duvall comes to mind.
M*A*S*H The Godfather The Godfather: Part II Network Apocalypse Now
Plus I'd argue The Road and Thank You for Smoking as well. Certainly, those movies are stronger offerings than some of what you listed above as both ensemble pieces and overall films.

I mean, John Cazale if we're going by percentage of great ensemble films. Because that'd be 100%.

Hmmmmmm, if you count The Road and Thank You For Smoking, then I'm throwing in The Insider and Any Given Sunday pal!
Julianne Moore has 4 strong ones at least - The Hours, Short Cuts, Boogie Nights, Magnolia......I keep trying to find somebody who pops up in multiple Altman's but no luck.

I could throw in The Conversation, To Kill a Mockingbird and even Lonesome Dove and Bob will still come out ahead. Tommy Lee Jones and Woody Harrelson are also contenders.

I feel like I've seen him in 9 out 10 movies since 2012.

Samuel L. Jackson is a contender:
Django Unchained Do the Right Thing Goodfellas Hard Eight The Hateful Eight Jackie Brown Jurassic Park Pulp Fiction True Romance
And that's a conservative list, he has a ton more films that you could argue for their inclusion, like some of the MCU films, The Incredibles, Coming to America, more of his Spike Lee collaborations, etc.

Maggie Smith? California Suite Gosford Park A Room With A View Downtown Abbey It hardly counts when she herself operates on an entire different league, ie California Suite and Downton Abbey.

I think he's the obvious answer to this thread question. All the films you've pointed out, and there are probably even more, because he's so prolific, and loves doing ensemble work, even though he can headline a film. Even something random in Jackson's filmography like Kingsman has a really great ensemble (Colin Forth, Mark Strong, Michael Caine etc)

That's true, when it's purely based on names/talents sometimes you have to look to more random and less successful (awards wise) movies, some have fantastics cast, I mean, for Meryl, The Manchurian Candidate cast destroy stuff like Doubt, August Osage County...pretty easily, (Meryl, Denzel, Bruno Ganz, Liev Schreiber, Jeffrey Wright, Jon Voight, Vera Farmiga, etc...) that's a stellar cast.
Lucky Number Slevin is on TV as I write this message, Bruce Willis was also involved in many movies with terrific cast. But that's the case of many actors anyway.

Maggie Smith? California Suite Gosford Park A Room With A View Downtown Abbey Don't forget Murder by Death; Peter Falk, Peter Sellers, Alec Guinness, etc. Side note - I've always loved this line-reading in the movie....

Donald Sutherland has been in a slew - The Dirty Dozen, Murder by Decree, 1900, JFK, Space Cowboys, Cold Mountain and a bunch others you could argue.
also Jack Lemmon's 90s shows everyone up - JFK, Glengarry Glen Ross, and Short Cuts, those came in successive years not including The Player where he has a cameo. And then Hamlet in '96, 12 Angry Men, etc....
