I know recent Terrence Malick movies have been hit or miss over the last few years, but what are your expectations for Radegund (which could be released in the next year or two). Even if you are positive it won't be an Oscar contender when it finally gets released but still have opinions on it, feel free to comment! Thanks for comments and opinions in advance!!!!

I think the likelihood of it being a plausible Oscar contender are pretty slim, especially as Malick even in his more structured mode typically doesn't veer near the Academy's sensibilities in any non-cinematography capacity. The only two films that have been big hits with them (The Thin Red Line and The Tree of Life) felt very much like special circumstances; the former, because he was returning in a critically lauded twenty-year hiatus in a star-studded WWII picture, and the latter was his critically beloved magnum opus that benefited greatly from passion votes. Radegund doesn't feel like it fits either bill at the moment.
With that said, I am very excited for it because it sounds like a return to form for an auteur who I think went too far into the abstract. I love Malick, but I think he works best when he's got more of a concrete narrative he can graft his themes and philosophies onto, rather than having those be the meat of the film on their own.

My only expectation is for it to get through post-production. And I'm not even sure about that.

Not super high to be honest, but I'd love to be wrong.

I think it'll go over better than his last three (Voyage of Time excluded) did, since he's supposedly returning to a less fragmented style. I'm not expecting it to become an awards contender at all (isn't it in German?), but the reviews will probably be more positive than he's gotten recently.
Personally, though, I'm here for whatever the man puts out. Even his much derided trio (Wonder, Knight, Song) are all 8/10 or higher for me.

Honestly I'm super excited I think it might be one of his least appealing to me but before it's releas it might have one of the higher ceilings for my appreciation. He's in that 8-15 range as far as my personal favorites go so I'm in for him. The lack of Chivo is the only thing that I'm not a fan of

I'm truly excited about that one . Love Malick 's work , love the cast (August Diehl deserves to be more well known and I truly pray that Matthias Schoenaerts' role won't end up on the cutting room floor !). I really can't wait .
