Taissa Farmiga being the lead is not a good start for me, and I genuinely reckon this will be crap, but if it's better than the truly rubbish Annabelle, then it still won't be the worst thing this series / universe.

I was expecting a little something more than the release date after that “watch til the end” disclaimer. It looks like a standard horror film just set in the Conjuring universe, but I like most of those movies (less so with the first Annabelle) so I’ll be there opening night.

This seems okay. I would at least expect this to be a step up from the first Annabelle.
