Thought it was flat out badass. Very violent action packed little sci fi film that had me really thinking about where technology is headed in the future. Logan Marshall Green (Tom Hardy's brother ) was pretty damn good as the lead . This was highly entertaining all the way thru imo .

I really liked it. I don't think it was nearly as action-heavy as the trailer made it seem, but it works in this movie's case as it builds on its premise and setting similar to how A Quiet Place did with horror. Also kinda like how they went with a downer ending and having Stem be pulling the strings the whole time. I wasn't expecting it and I actually like how it went down.

This was a helluva lotta fun. Great sci-fi stuff, great action -- especially the first scene where we see Stem in action, and a good performance from Logan Marshall-Green. I almost threw my shoe at the screen when I thought they were ending it with "it was all a dream" but it really took that and twisted it in the best way possible. solid 7.5/10

Action and sci-fi are two of my favorite genres, especially when blended together. And this one was filled with so many amazing concepts that I'm surprised haven't been done before - especially since it seemed pretty low-budget outside of some make-up effects and minor CGI/robotics. Very classic in that way, which I love.
But my God was the script a mess. Or rather, not so much a mess as it felt like something written haphazardly. Everything about it felt rushed, some cool concepts were introduced and then never brought up again (i.e. the sneezing swords, the eyeballs rewinding time), and the dialogue felt super weak. I think maybe if it took itself a little less seriously and focused more on the action sequences (which were excellently choreographed and filmed), it could have been a lot of fun - even with the cheesy dialogue. But it tried to do too much too quickly and it had a hard time paying off or trying to balance that line of fun and serious. Still enjoyable, but a mess of ideas that weren't well-planned or utilized.
Logan Marshall-Green will become a star from this, though. He's charming enough and he hits all the notes perfectly that the film wishes it made too.

I enjoyed it as a cheap, soulless vengeance movie that never even attempted to hide how ugly its morality is, I guess. The kind of movie that is perfectly good at being enjoyable in the moment, but leaves me wanting to shower afterwards.
And Deep Archer raised a point about it basically being what he imagines Venom would be, and... yeah, it's pretty much what I imagine Venom would be too. Beat for beat. But hey, I'm okay with that. I don't especially want to come back to this movie, though. It really is uglier every time I look back on it.

I really dug it in the cinema and think it was one of the more overlooked films of the summer. The choreography was aces.
