Murphy is more consistent, but Farrell's hit higher heights (but also has a substantial amount of lows). I think Murphy's more interesting to watch.

I like Murphy and would probably nominate him for "Red Eye" but it's Farrell by far. He has shown an impressive range and still continues to amaze.

What Stephen said pretty much. I've always been a Murphy fan, and it took me a while to come around to Farrell, but I'm a huge fan now. Farrell has three brilliant performances in my book and Murphy two, so Farrell edges my vote here on the basis of higher highs over consistency.
Also, I hope Jonathan Rhys Meyers can sort his personal issues out someday and get his career back on track, as I really think he's as good as both these guys.

Damn . Great Poll idea for sure. I am so torn cause I love them both. Gotta give the edge to Colin though (he's had quite a few good to great performances lately and I think overall his body of work is superior....but barely )

Farrell's got In Bruges but I don't know if he'll ever come close to reaching that again. With that said, his resume the last couple years has been interesting to watch but I find Murphy more intriguing over all.
