I saw a recent biographical film in my native language titled Mahanati based on one of my favorite actresses, Savitri. FYI, she is a south Indian actress in the 50s and 60s who had seen huge heights in film and later addicted to alcohol and recklessly donated her savings in the form of charity before dying at an young age. I'm still in the trance of it and wanting for more of such films. Please suggest some good biopics of actors/actresses in any language.

To throw about another question: Who is an actor/actress you think should have a biopic? the legend Robert Mitchum has got to be #1 for me. ditch digging, chain gangs, pot arrest, getting fired for throwing someone into the San Francisco Bay, smacking the shit out of Otto Preminger, etc...

The pre-film 1800s group is a fascinating mix - Edmund Kean and John Philip Kemble etc. You could make several great movies about Kean's Wikipedia page

More from 1800s, and I just bought a book about them, John Wilkes Booth and his brother Edwin and their father. Really fascinating dynamic and of course ultimate tragedy. I think the only (very unknown) movie made about them, which I haven't seen, is one called Prince of Players (1955) with Richard Burton as Edwin.
Also surprised they haven't done a big screen biopic of Josephine Baker; there's the Emmy winning HBO pic (again haven't seen) but I think it's ripe for a redo and she's a great figure: badass african american LGBT singer/actress and French Resistance agent !!

Malcolm X! Denzel should have won an Oscar for his performance. The op says Biopic about Actors/Actresses not Politician, you crooked politician! Just realized that. Lol misread the title. Dang!

Kinda shocked that there aren't more to name..... To throw about another question: Who is an actor/actress you think should have a biopic? I think it's because TV has much more to offer in regards to this. Marilyn Monroe, for example, has at least three tv series based on her: Norma Jean and Marilyn (1996), Blonde (2001) and The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe (2015). There's also Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (1999), Feud season 1 (about Bette Davis and Joan Crawford), James Dean (TV movie, 2001) and Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows (2001). I could add Grace of Monaco (2014), but I don't want the OP to hate me after he sees it. More about directors but also featuring actors, we have Ed Wood (1994) and Hitchcock (2012). All that Jazz (1979) too, considering that the lead character is based on Bob Fosse. There's also The Bad and the Beautiful (1952), whose characters are based on real-life Hollywood people. In regards to your question, the first name that crossed my mind was Gene Tierney. Elizabeth Taylor and Rudolph Valentino also deserve their own biopic.

If ever there's been someone who deserves a film it's Veronica Lake who is the greatest Hollywood (or anti-Hollywood) story - the biggest star for a brief period and a Bowery waitress all but forgotten less than 30 years later.
I always thought a very young Anne Heche could have played her though Lake was much sexier but Heche is the right type and was a very fine actress I thought, especially when she was first entering films.

I almost forgot about this one: She was more of a model though , wasn't she ? Those silent 'one-reel' featurettes hardly showcased her acting skills .
